I just went back in and a 5pm appointment today was available. Booked it and it clearly says R2 - will see if it is real because I had the same experience if it saying no R2s at this location.
Test drive went well, very solid vehicle! I was surprised that I was the only one there when I showed up. Take your time to explore the floor model before your test drive so you can focus on testing the "drive" for those 30 minutes and not the features.
Thoughts on NVH - especially motor, wind and road noise?
It was a lot quieter than our R1S. No rattles. I didn't take it out on the highway because there was a rock truck in front of me as I was about to exit to the highway. I didn't want to be the guy coming back from the test drive with rock chips.
When I test drove the R1S and R1T a few months back they gave me the key and said have it back in 35 to 45 minutes. Today, they were a lot more pressed for time. And a Rivian employee actually rode with me in the passenger seat and had me on a predetermined route. The test drive took about 20 minutes, and then I spent the rest of the time taking pictures and standing around, talking with the guy.
They just gave me the "keys". There were no restrictions, recommended I take it on the Highway as well. No one from Rivian joined me for the test drive.
I was surprised how much I liked the Half Moon Gray color......that may be my new choice.Friggin great driving vehicle. Surprised at how quiet it was at highway speed (80 mph)
