Maybe the rest of us will get the chargers with the truck. Seems they really want to get these first deliveries (yes, these are the FIRST DELIVERIES) out quickly and the chargers might not be ready.

You really want to know what sort of damage is repaired before delivering a car without the customer ever knowing?

it can be as extensive as “transport truck crushed the roof skin with a ramp so it was replaced At port.“

my car had the whole front end resprayed and the windshield replaced because there was a wind storm that blasted a bunch of cars with sand and gravel. cannot tell.

The idea that a car company couldn’t possibly hire people who know how to fix paint issues from transport is laughable and condescending.

and speaking of orange peel, go look at any German car made since the switch to waterborne paints. Then ask a body shop about having to match orange peel ?
Yes it's usually done in the plant's body shop section. Didn't know they had Collison repair equipment and spray booths at the ports. Also don't think the service centers or zen reading rooms have that capability either.

Correct, By outside Detail companies who specialize in paint correction and PPF. The one that I saw was on a white truck. Paint imperfections are much easier to see on colors like Rivian Blue.
Look on YouTube for the channel “Chicago Auto Pros” or something similar.

CA buyers: please post what your CA DMV registration fees are. I heard registration will be high due to the roughly 7,000 pound curb weight.

I am guessing it will be in the $800 range for a $75k Rivian R1T.

I’ve never had an additional fee for weight on a private vehicle in CA.

There is a CA DMV registration calculator here.

Very excited for you all with scheduled deliveries.

Update on my order: Was supposed to receive a preliminary buyers agreement by Thursday morning based on a Rivian committed window. Still haven't received it. My guide cited pricegate as the reason for the miss but didn't reset expectations other than s00n. I'm keeping an eye on my account in case the process opens up without the document. Hopefully it will progress Monday morning.

did Rivian actually under promise and over deliver? Re: an estimated delivery window.
Just the fact that March/April actually meant the first week of March is a major improvement.

Congrats! Just scheduled my 3/7 delivery too! Went through the same painful delay this afternoon. Then all went well. SoCal LA area for me.
Would you mind sharing your preorder date and truck configuration? Maybe it will give me hope of getting mine soon! Mine is 12/8/2018. LE Launch green R1t. Black mountain 20 inch wheels,

Touch up paint chips? You would be okay with that?
Yeah. It's not that likely to get chipped up on a transport to begin with -- it's shielded by the tow vehicle and a little from the trailer and other vehicles. And even if something does happen, I'm ok with it being repaired before delivery.

After all, we're getting the truck to use not just look at. On delivery day, the dog hammock will go over the back seats and two 85-pound pups will reign supreme. We'll be getting our own paint chips and probably pin stripes soon enough. It's not that we plan to intentionally abuse the vehicle, but we are also not going to stress ourselves out trying to baby it.

I think they should at least come with the mobile charger which charges at 32 amps on 240v

I got my PBA Thursday, but the price on it is $89,480 rather than $76,835 that it should be. Guide has been working on this since...

I'm hoping they will have it squared away by Monday so we can get the process moving.

Looks like for me it will be 7600 in tax and 916 for registration. I'm in torrance. My config is 79600. That's about what I was expecting. Your tax will vary by your zip code. Registration could as well. I've owned 3 trucks, California adds a commercial charge and fees vary depending on the weight of the truck. They like to take all of your money here. And not much to show for it. ?
