clear UV blocking tint is the only real option for widnshields, most places rightly do not allow any reduction of visible light transmission below the AS1 line.

a sunshade in the windshield when parked is the most effective tool for Southern California, an$ you can even still see at night.

I have had a Jeep Grand Cherokee sitting outside for the 8 years I have had it. Live in Southern CA, throw a sunshade in the window sometimes but not always. The truck has held up very well.

I never put anything on it but do plan a ceramic coating for the R1S.

I think modern interiors do a lot better - dashboards don’t get as beat up for example

Can you tint windshield in Cali?

And those windscreen sunshades if you are willing to use it.

You cant technically tint windshield, but most tint shops have an almost clear tint for that specifically that is supposed to block all the heat and UV....

I have done it on all my cars and it has always worked great for heat reduction.

I keep my truck outside. I try to keep it in the shade for hot part of the day. The garage is for motorcycles and tools.

The best UV protection is dirt and selling it before too long.

OP lives in Southern California. The sun there is harsh and will do the most damage to paint and even interior parts. Dollar store sunshade is the way.

When(if) it rains there it’s best to just stay home, as it is like the first snowfall for those of us in places with seasons. No one knows what to do ?

I will definitely get the windshield tinted with an "air 80". Gives major UV protection and heat blocking.

Not sure what your set up is like.. you don't need full coverage.. just figure out where the sun will be the majority of the time when you're parked there. There are some interesting sail shade ideas you could incorporate

Those look very nice.... Unfortunately, I don't think it would work for me. May try to adapt the idea though.

Just google cars movie sun shade on amazon. it comes right up. $18. I may get one as I am getting Rivian Blue.

That’s pretty cool but I would try get one that actually fits. The one in the pic is for a much narrower car.
