I almost wish they didn’t have LG available for me. Limestone was my top choice when LG wasn’t in the picture. I hope I don’t regret it when I start seeing Limestone Rivians in public haha

I like both LG and Limestone, but I actually think Limestone will end up being that year one color that is most unique.. There seem to be a lot of LG out there, but limestone is such a chameleon and it went through all the speculation leading up to the launch that it feels like it has that special thing.

Got a guide and just confirmed my configuration!

Have not yet communicated with my guide, as I am content with my config, but plan to do so soon to get some more details on expected timeline.

So stoked!

Recent config changes : dropped the underbody shield and switched from ATs to 21" roads with expectation that I will buy an inexpensive wheel with knobby rubber when I am actually ready to wheel my 80k truck...

Just because you switch does not mean you'll necessarily move up in the line. Some people have been getting lucky but location, config, and preorder date seem to all be factors.

October 21 is pretty recent but you could hit the rivian lottery - I had Glacier White and BM configured and my guide said last week it would be pretty quick if I waited to get my exact config because it's one of the prioritized combos - but then he found me something I liked a little better at a service center and I locked that in.

This is great. I am heading to SF for a work trip in June. Having never really seen an R1T in person at all (aside from seeing one, briefly, driving down the street) - I think I'll uber down to the SSF location and just see what they have in the parking lot from a distance. That way I can see some colors in person.

It's surprisingly close to the San Francisco airport (SFO). I think it's like a 5-10 drive. Anyone who has a long stopover at SFO and hasn't seen a R1 in person, should hop on an Uber/Lyft and take a look.

Ok so what you do is stop at the it’s it factory store in Burlingame directly from the airport. Take a case of it’s its down to the service centre for bribery purposes…boom, you’re in!

I didn't mean to insinuate necessarily that the recent changes are the reason I was assigned a guide.

Officially, to hear anyone at Rivian describe it, the only show stoppers are OC, max pack and R1S at this stage.

Others have speculated about inclusion of power tonneau and delete of extra shielding on the bottom might promote availability, but nothing official on that.

FWIW, though, I made those config changes a week or so ago.

Switching off OC will improve your odds of getting the call. I switched to FE, and then got a guide contact last week. If you want an earlier car, I’d suggest changing to BM asap. If the car comes too early, you can always change it back to OC and go back in line.

There’s another thread where a few 2019/2020 pre-order Adventure/LE configs have manual tonneau specced. I’m 99% certain, that’s also a show stopper.

In theory, Rivian will be "reaching out" this month to discuss options to expedite delivery. In reality, there are 2 business days left in this month so I wouldn't be holding my breath.
