Yep. Just thought the same after watching the entire video and then realized that might be the reason why she never showed 3rd row space at all or did not even talk about it?

Just hoping to correct a little bit. No money exchanged hands here. I’m also a YouTuber (though a smaller one than Justine) and not only are we held to extremely strict standards by the platform itself, but also federal law (16 CFR 255). The FTC requires disclosure of any transference of funds between creator/advertiser with on screen text and an audible call-out. I’ve known Justine for years and she’s one of the most talented creators on the platform with overwhelming integrity. Take a recent sponsored video she did about a cat litter box. Not only did she meet the FTC’s disclosure requirements, but she went beyond that by disclosing it in the description text as well as the video player itself.

I can guarantee no money swapped hands here. She was certainly enticed by the viewership that would come from an exclusive first-look video, but (and I know this sounds crazy!) influencers are people too and just being able to drive a cool new car that’s not on the road yet (a car her sister has on order) for a week is incentive enough.
I appreciate the clarification but it makes me care even less about the review then since it isn't even a vehicle they own or spent much time with; and doing it for clicks is not much different than doing it for $$$ or a free R1S. In some ways it makes it worse as the compensation is less transparent.

And it’s totally fine if this isn’t content you see value in (I’m well known for being hypercritical and seldom get invites from brands pre-release); however, to not recognize that this isn’t any different from Rivian sending MotorTrend an R1S for a week is lost on me. If you’re waiting for owner reviews, you’re gonna need to wait until owners start getting them because nothing else will scratch that itch.

Then you shouldn't watch any youtube videos, since they are all doing it for clicks.

It looks like you may be able to sit up under glass if you are not tall but not under the beam:

I don't disagree it isn't much different than MotorTrend reviewers have seen a lot of other vehicles and I bet their folks would have a lot more hours with butts-in-seats before posting a "review"

Simply put, this is Rivian Marketing to drum of R1S pre-orders, by one of the most popular social media influencers. iJustine is big on YouTube, especially in the Tech You tube community. She is up there with MKBHD and LTT when it comes to tech channels.

This is NOT meant to be for reviews.

Don't tell me Rivian does not know how to communicate. They know how to drum up PR and marketing, just not communicate with their customers.

I get it; their review is for entertainment purposes only.

Interesting... they said "pre-production" R1S ?
Yah, this el cap S is easily traceable to most likely be same el cap S on the carrier. Just look for the thread where half the posts claiming the pic proves customer S deliveries started six weeks ago ?…

I’d suggest it isn’t a “review,” rather a “first-look” (that’s literally what she called it). I drove an R1T all-day for three days back at the Breckinridge press event and wouldn’t even dare to call the video I posted a review. I’ve now owned an R1T for two weeks and it’s going to be many-many months before I post a video worthy of being considered a “review.”

I’m certainly not saying the videos linked on this thread are the Mona Lisa, but they’re our closest look yet at the R1S and as the car nears production and eventual release, we’ll come to see more “substantive” content.

Also disappointed this is the FIRST external R1S content. Totally not knocking having social media influencers, it’s the day in age we live. But the first ones?!

At least the R1T big media announcement was in partnership with Motortrend. Hoping to see a lot more videos roll out this week.

edit: As I think about it more…. It’s more about how you view this content. If I view this as a Rivian sponsored ad for the R1S, then it’s great. It’s just not a “review” by any means which is what most of us were hoping for. Better to call it what it is. This is Rivian’s version of advertisements.
They seemed to be early reservation holders as well, so maybe that helped

iJustine is over 7 million. This is absolutely an intentional start to the R1S comms rollout. (Jenna is her sister I believe and often tags along on these.)
