Rivian R1T R1S Shortest order-to-delivery time yet @ 40 days Screenshot

If this is true, it is very clear Rivian is playing a messed-up game!

Where is that from? Finding that hard to believe. Feels like they misunderstood the question.

frustrating for people waiting since 2018 and 2019 when they are building <5 a day...
I think I may have the shortest order-to-delivery time on record. I ordered on April 21st, 2022 and just got my 8-Step today and will soon schedule delivery for early next week.

It will be roughly 40 days from the day I put down my $1,000 deposit to the day the R1T is in my garage.

Full Timeline-

Order Date: April 21, 2022
Guide Contact: May 12, 2022
PBE Signed and Config Locked: May 13, 2022
VIN and 8-Step: May 25, 2022
Delivery: (Will update after I finish 8-Step)

My specific configuration is attached.

Does anyone actually believe this. Because I do not.

At no point was I given an estimated delivery timeframe nor assigned a Guide yet.

What’s ridiculous is I am flexible with my customization. Contacted CS a few times, and they just brush me off and tell me to wait.

I wish I could get a rough idea when to expect a Guide assignment. Also an ability to inform them of my flexibility.

Welcome to the forums! When/what did you order?

You may want to toss your config and order date in your signature

I originally ordered R1T in Rivian Blue with OC interior in 2020. Over time I have changed my configuration to match what I assume would be the fastest production option. Honestly right now I’ll take anything other than Compass Yellow or Canyon Red. The only hard must for me is quad motor.

Customer Service can tell you your delivery window -- worth opening a chat to find out. Dunno why they didn't tell you before, but just ask specifically for your delivery window. For a 2020 R1T order I'd expect it to be coming up pretty soon. The Great Reshuffling supposedly coming around the end of May could change things, of course.

This one, that one and the other one.

I hate to say it but it makes sense for Rivian to sprinkle some of these new orders in. They make more money on the post 3/1 orders. I can't blame them for allocating some trucks to that.
Ding, ding, ding....we have a winner! 20% price hike, absolutely makes sense for them to offer trucks in which customers cancelled on, to new buyers at a 20% higher price point than it would have sold to a pre-03/01/2022 order.

What do you want as proof? You can check my Twitter www.Twitter.com\canvasquiet or you can wait a week and I’ll just post a photo of me taking delivery.

OP might live close to a service center. I imagine that helps. Plus choosing blue (common) with 21’s (pushes you up) with Black Mountain (pushes you up) may be all it takes.
I do, I am about 30 minutes from the Cleveland service center which probably has a lot to do with it.

Is it possible that rivian, in their grand wisdom, are playing psychological games, encouraging new preorders by making people think there's a chance they will win the bullseye lottery and get their vehicles quickly? Just a thought...

Given what we’ve seen it makes sense. There’s a stab at assignment when VINs are born on the line and those flow through to the customer for the most part. Exceptions happen when the line batches a few extra of a config, customers change their config, logistics botches or throws extras to a SC, etc…so we end up with the last in customer with a blue T in Cleveland. Not fair but makes sense…
