Oct-Dec 2022 Delivery Windows

In theory, Rivian will be "reaching out" this month to discuss options to expedite delivery. In reality, there are 2 business days left in this month so I wouldn't be holding my breath.

I spoke with Rivian CS via Chat last week to ask about a demo drive event in Michigan and see if I could get an invite to it (it was full). During the chat, I asked about the call and was told that they were only reaching out to people that still had OC interior in their configuration. Also during the chat session, they asked if they could do anything else for me while they had my account open. I asked them to put down all of the service locations that I knew as places I'd be willing to go to pick up, as well as how open I am to changing my config.

Hopefully they were incorrect about the contact this month though, and I hope they contact me still even though I did change from OC to BM interior.

Lol yea, idk what that was all about. Didn't seem realistic that they'd contact every reservation holder by end of May to provide options.

But yea I mean there's no guarantee you will get assigned a guide early, based on location, configs, etc... (seems like you have a reasonably common config with no guide contact), but if you have an Oct-Dec expected delivery and leave OC on your configurator, i'm sure there is no chance they will assign a guide to you in the next few months. The few people in this thread that have gotten early contact have had BM/FE interior configured though.

Yeah I switched two weeks ago from OC to BM and will keep everyone updated. Fingers crossed!

There’s another thread where a few 2019/2020 pre-order Adventure/LE configs have manual tonneau specced. I’m 99% certain, that’s also a show stopper.

Yeah, my delivery guy yesterday said they haven’t seen a single build without the full power cover. I bet that will hold up a build for now.

Update: The orphaned Launch Edition that I matched to just arrived at SSF service center! Car is going in for pre delivery inspection, and have a tentative pickup date of 6/4/22.

Edit: Asked my guide for a pic. And There she is! Feels surreal! (Excuse the potato quality, guide uses some basic sms app for communicating)

Ok so what you do is stop at the it’s it factory store in Burlingame directly from the airport. Take a case of it’s its down to the service centre for bribery purposes…boom, you’re in!

I used the brewski tactic for several years at the Boston MacWorld many moons ago. Apple could never figure out how my small company could jump the line and get our booth set up before they did!

Sigh, I really don't understand this. I ordered a full year before you, with Adv+FE in SF (I live 15min from that center). I also have an earlier delivery window than you. And still no guide.

Either way, congrats, but this is frustrating to watch (as it is for a lot of other people too).

What was your configuration? R1T? Did you make sure to add power tonneau back after the configurator update when the pricing changed? I know on mine, the PT was removed and I had to add it back. Also color/interior/wheel options? I think some of these things make a difference.

But regardless, it looks like the Jul-Sep group is picking up traction, so hopefully you’ll get a contact soon!

I have not touched my config since I set it and added back the tonneau. Someone in Portland with the exact same config as me, yet ordered 9mo later, also got a guide contact.

Also, not trying to take away from your excitement or sound entitled. More-so sharing information for others to see... and venting a little frustration in the process

I went to the service center today to check out my car. I have a feeling El Cap hasn’t been in any recent batch. They had a ton of launch and forest green and rivian blue

Yeah that thought crossed my mind as well. I’ve stopped by every few weeks and haven’t seen many El Caps there. But the people working there said they see them all the time, so who knows.

I dropped in on the Atlanta service center today and there were several El Caps. Most common were the two greens & blue, followed by El Cap and Limestone. Also saw 3 or 4 each white and silver, one midnight, one RC. Seemed to be a good mix of BM & FE interiors. Big assortment of wheels choices present as well.
