I recognize that it is highly subjective, but is there a preferred/recommended equalizer setting for the Meridian audio system? I've toyed around with the various preset settings, and also manipulated it to my own (perceived) preferences - all with mixed results.

Both myself and my son are both blessed (cursed) by having perfect pitch. The mid-range, lower-mid is underpowered and the bass slightly over imo. Do with that what you will. Of course, most people these days don’t actually want accurate / neutral representations. The most popular consumer products crank the bass and high end.

Perhaps someone will measure it one day - I don’t have a meter.

Get a calibrated mic and find out for yourself. Each car is going to be a little different. You can get a decent one for about $100.

Audio control iOS mic. Works with their app.

At $229 it is a good entry level tool. Use the average settings for tuning - slow response to the RTA. You can get pink noise to play from many sources. Tuning a car audio system is never a "flat" thing usually a slow slope down from the bass to the highs. There is road noise to overcome in the bass region and depending on the absorption of the materials the highs are in need of less energy in a car.

During my first mile drive yesterday there was not a lot of equalizer need to get a smooth response that sounded right with known demo material. The pre-set curve the Rivian team member used was not good. The low end was tubby and over driven and the highs were too boosted. After some quick moves closer to flat, the sound was much improved.

You are the meter.
A few weeks ago I saw a Kia that used the roof as the audio meter. Bass was boosted so much the roof shook like Shakira's hips.
