Chelsea is telling me my R1T (new reg no transfer) that is delivering Wednesday won't be road ready until my RMV appt Friday. Not sure what will be on it for tags when it delivers.

Not being road ready til Friday tells me it’s coming with nothing and you won’t be able to (legally and with insurance coverage!) until you have a registration and plates from your visit to the DMV.

If you want to get a head start on the application, here’s what I had to send them:
Purchase agreement
Purchase summary (summary of my build from rivian’s website)
The page from the owners manual showing the gvwr
MA registration
Signed terms and conditions (it’s on the mor-ev trucks web page)
Copy of my drivers license

The back and forth with them can take some time, so maybe you can try sending all this at once. Good luck

Thank you! I'm still on my 8 step process. But from what I gather my truck is on its way to Chelsea. As soon as I take delivery, I plan to apply for this credit.

Central Mass.......using the dreaded Worcester RMV. No time on my schedule other than Wednesday and Friday, but I do appreciate the offer.

My delivery slot is later this week and I still can't get a clear answer from Rivian on whether I'm expected to register before or after delivery, lol. I was originally told it needed to be before so I have an RMV appointment, but I don't have the paperwork to do it yet.

They will send them to you but you should ask them to do it asap and not wait the day before.

Looks more likely that the R1S will also qualify for the Mass MOR-EV Trucks program. With the R1S at the Venice Hub someone snagged a pick of the GVWR in the doorjamb and it remains consistent at 8532 lbs which is above the necessary threshold

I’m wondering more how MA will look at their own definition of “truck” and if they will allow an SUV to be designated as a truck which is what this program is for. The state has a car EV rebate program but as far as I know that program has lower $ values, maybe $2,500

So just another point of reference.. I was mailed my paperwork from Rivian for me to register at the RMV.. I didn't realize how busy the RMV's are and that appointments are a good week out at most places.. I ended up making a reservation at the Pittsfield RMV (I live near Worcester).

I can't do my insurance until the truck has been registered... And I don't think Rivian will deliver until my insurance is done...

Good luck. Mine was even more dramatic but I can’t complain, Rivian did everything to correct their mistake. The result is I have my temp plate (didn’t have EV plates) and I am scheduled for a delivery tomorrow.

you have 7 days after you register it.

I just got back from the milford DMV it was painful as it took 2 hours past my appointment to be seen. Rivian did send all the right documents and it went through no problem.
