I just logged in to tell ya. So It was delivered (not by Obadiah) but by one of the other guys who had texted me about a week ago when it arrived in Atlanta. He actually called/texted this morning and said he would be coming between 12 and 1 if that was OK. UH....DUH!!! Yes it's OK!
Very easy process. They check your ID, have you sign a couple of more pages related to SC DMV stuff and then make sure you have the App and have it paired up for unlocking. Still not sure about the key as a phone deal. The fob being passive like so many cars and my Tesla makes a lot more sense and needs to be activated ASAP imo. Had some minor bubbling/lifting on the left gear tunnel door PPF like so many of them and a seal was loose at the bottom of the left rear door when opened (popped it back on). Truck is unbelievably beautiful. Was so subconsciously worried I would not like the color, or even the black interior in person but either I am in a lust phase or I was just alarmed for no reason. I love it. Coming out of a Model S and Model X the interface is similar but different enough it will take some getting used to. Much like switching from Apple to Android, although hopefully not that extreme. The lack of a creep mode and true one pedal driving compared to Tesla does take some adjustment and I felt a little awkward when I drove it to lunch trying to get that modulation figured out but I will get the hang of it. Quality of materials compared to 2013 (and even 2016) Tesla is on another level. Tesla is going to have to up their game if they want to stay in the race long term against this sort of product is my initial thought. They do need to replace all of the staff they are cutting at Rivian with more software people to get the truck more in line with Tesla feature-wise but that should come with time. I have a feeling I will just sit in the truck for an hour or so tonight and play with the menus etc to figure out more. You are about to be so happy tomorrow. I can't wait to hear your report. I'm like a friggin kid on Christmas morning.
Pics or it didn't happen

I'll try to get some. Hard to do this and work too but unfortunately I was born so good-looking but not so rich so I have to put in the hours.
Ah I meant pictures of the truck but I'm sure you're very handsome as well.

YES! How do you like it? I mean I think I already know but would love to hear the details of delivery and your feelings so far.
It's amazing. First time seeing FE in person and it's fantastic. A unique color combo but in a way that's very comfortable. I've barely driven it but have taken it for a quick drive and it's just as I remember. Thinking about taking it up into the mountains this evening to just get to know each other a little bit.

I work with a lot of traditional truck owners and they are all completely flabbergasted by it. Needless to say I'm going to be doing a lot of ridealongs over the next few weeks!

Update:

Took it up into the foothills (up SC 11 to Walhalla and then to Mountain Rest up 28) and opened it up a bit. Absolutely love how it drives. Cornering is way too tight to be a vehicle it's size. The instant acceleration on demand is just breathtaking.

Mine will be in lot 5 on Saturdays just like you are before you know it!
Nice! We are usually up by Littlejohn but not sure how many games we will make it to this year with an 18 month old. The Rivian really is the perfect tailgate machine though!

Yes an 18 month old would be rough for a day of tailgating for sure. We used the Model X all of last season and ran the 55 inch TV, fans, sat dish etc off it. It should be even better this year with a spare tire well full of ice and beers/cokes!
