Just got a call from my guide that I have been matched with R1T in production and immediately received my email to begin the purchase process. That was quick, as I was sitting in an OCT-NOV delivery window.

RB w/ OC and 20" AT wheels. So stoked!!
How long have you had a guide?

this doesn’t look as good as the natural wood look. I don’t think the BM wood option looks that natural either. Ideally we can opt ocean coast with the FE wood grain interior. Id happily settle for that.
I like the natural wood but the sample (at Venice Hub) I've seen looked terrible. Reminded me of bad white washed flooring from the 90's. They really needed much more like a driftwood to complement the name OC.

I've read several posts of preference for the walnut over the black finish but, it probably looks bit odd next to light pale gray. I realize its a personal taste thing.

Given that door and all the non-wood trim from the original OC is black, makes sense to use black finish on the wood trim parts.

I wish they kept the pre-production two toned steering wheel instead though.

I've actually had a guide since way back in March. I was offered to switch to Black mountain interior and I declined. My guide then locked my Ocean Coast configuration and I've been waiting ever since.

Hey Mark, I'm in Gilbert also! Seeing a few R1T's around made me finally make the leap away from Tesla after owning 4 of them. I was an early adopter over there and it was a tough decision to break away. Now I'm super jealous of those that jumped on the Rivian bandwagon a lot earlier.
Nice to be in the front of the queue now and then ;)! Great call on taking on a new vehicle!!

Happy they are working to get this configuration out there but I couldn't live with that light of a color interior.

ya it still has the dark wood on the doors and steering wheel.
In larger versions of the photo I can't see any graining on the center console. I'm guessing that the "leather" wrapped models do not have wood on the center console and doors either. It's possible Rivian has a contract (or parts in a warehouse) for the Explore trim options and they will use those for the "leather" wrapped dashboard interiors instead of wood.

A little regretful I didn’t hold out for this new OC. Hopefully my mind changes when my truck is delivered Tuesday!

I liked the lighter wood better but I understand if they couldn’t get the wood to looks like they intended reliably. I hope they offer Desert Brush at some point: light sand colored upholstery with the wood from Forest Edge.

It kinda looks like that mesh material used in the middle portion of the dash. Could look good.

EDIT: on second look, maybe more like the cloth used on the line running down the middle of the seats.

Same. I really like it. Luckily my wife has it configured for her R1S

Somewhat disappointed with this announcement. I was a big fan of the original Lunar Rock interior, but was okay to accept Ocean Coast changes. With this announcement, I may switch to Forest Edge.

...or maybe, like the Stadium Headlights, this new Ocean Coast will grow on me.

Personally, I like the change to the dark wood trim. I might even be tempted to switch from Black Mountain if they offered the dark headliner as well. I'm not a fan of light colored headliners but do love the look of the light gray seats and door inserts on an otherwise dark interior. Fortunately I'm perfectly happy with Black Mountain. Just happy to see more deliveries and hoping mine won't be too much longer!
