Right, the lifespan doesn't matter, if you have uneven wear you have uneven wear. It would reduce the amount of time you have undesirable wear patterns to perhaps only 6 months, but that's still 6 months of undesirable traits in exchange for a $30 rotation at Discount tire.

Does Discount Tire allow you to pay for a rotation? I always feel bad going because I have never bought tires from them but even though I tell them I didn't get the tires from them they always hand me a $0 invoice.

Oh, yeah it might be free even if you didn't buy the tires there. I know someone did it at Costco for $25, so I was just making a point. Even more so if you can have someone else do it quickly for free. Rivian charges $60.

I know my local Costco charges $30 ($33.25 if you count the chicken bake that I will eat while they are working on it) for a rotate and balance, I'd just be worried about them having the right equipment to lift my truck. I certainly wouldn't want to be the first one they work on

Service HQ specifically recommended Discount as an alternative to them doing it, knowing customers that have gone there.

Another factoid - HQ will tell you that the SC have the ability to repair tires, but that is not true. I had a leak, and asked because I had an upcoming service visit, so didn't want to make an extra trip to Discount if they could do it. They said the SC could. When it got there, the SC confirmed I had a puncture, but they didn't have ability to repair. That being said, the puncture was in the shoulder and couldn't be repaired anyway, so they just replaced it ($425 with tax for the AT, which is same price as Tire Rack). I think they said the plan eventually is to have ability to repair tires, but not currently. This could also have just been that one center (Houston).

I've never owned a 7000+ lb vehicle before but I do expect that to cause faster wear than most may be expecting. Additional data shared here will reveal how normal this is for the R1.

In comparison, I can get nearly 30k miles out of Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season on my Volvo which weighs about 3000 lbs less and that is a slightly more aggressive tread compound than the Scorpion Verde. I used to get about 13k miles out of Michelin PS2 summer tires on my old 400hp BMW 330i which weighed about 3900 lbs less than the Rivian.

How often was the rotation done????

About every 5k for the Volvo, 3k for the BMW (I had aftermarket wheels in a square setup so I was able to rotate front to rear, unlike with the stock wheels/tires).

I think this is location-dependent. The Costco locations I've checked all say they don't do rotations, at all.

At 3000 miles of mostly flat and straight highway driving I got 9/32 on outside front, 10/32 on middle front. 8/32 on outside rear, 10/32 on middle rear.
