I wish RIvian would add the option to put a black headliner w/ the Ocean Coast interior. This was an option when I configured my Land Rover Defender. I think it is a much better look and way easier to keep clean. Which one do you think looks better?

I voted black, everything looks on point until you get to the door panels and white steering wheel. At minimum with the black headliner, the steering wheel should be black as well. just looks out of place otherwise.

Ditch the glass and give me a black headliner across the whole roof!

I'm strongly considering going with OC instead of BM, but the headliner is holding me back.

For those color seats, I think white/light looks better but I'd still go with black since I'd get so mad at myself if I got it dirty. Since the headliner is a fabric material and not leather, if it got dirty, it would be nearly impossible to clean.

For those who can’t decide, it looks like Rivian is shipping the “white” headliner with black speaker grills as shown on another thread. Pretty sad.

This....I really do not like the white steering wheel in the new ocean coast, it stands out so much without the light wood. Very happy with my black mountain that was delivered tuesday. Not as dark as i feared, so no regrets so far on switching to move up delivery (although not moved up by much by the looks of it now).

White (gray) headliner is the ONLY reason i didn't choose OC. I had gray in both my GTIs and no matter what i did it was dirty within a few years and couldn't be cleaned.

Black headliner for life now
I’m in the same boat. Black is so much easier to keep looking new if you actually use your SUV off-road. Please Rivian add this as an option in your configurator or go all black to make production easier

Well hell, with the black wood and now a proposed black headliner... why stop there? Why not black seats and armrests?
Because they get hot. I prefer everything inside black (to reduce glare) with the exception of the seats. In hot climates black seats and anything else your body touches is absolutely terrible.

I absolutely love black headliners with patching pillers. To me it just makes the vehicle feel more cozy. I would have gotten Ocean Coast if that was the config it came with.

Black without question!

And it would help streamline the build process and supply chain I'm sure (not needing the light OC headliner).

People who want lights seats can still have their light seats and I think the OC holdouts will then cross over.

If it had the black headliner and black dash I honestly might not have ordered the truck.

One person’s cozy is another person’s claustrophobic. I’m married to someone who will not buy a vehicle with a black headliner. Period. Even if most of it is glass.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If a person wants the whole interior black with white seats, why wouldn’t they just order BM interior and get white seat covers?

I agree it will be harder to keep clean 100% of the time, but I don't have kids so I don't really need to worry about headliner cleanliness...

The white makes the whole cabin feel more open, and IMHO it feels more premium. I'm on team white.

All I am going with here is that more people typically are interested in what color seats are in their car versus their dashboard and headliner.

To each their own though, again just would simplify the build.

Looks like people are essentially eventually split. Would be nice to add as an option.
