Update - The Oregon DMV has now received the registration but Rivian shorted them $326 so the DMV sent me a letter stating they can’t process the registration until the balance is received. Went to the DMV today to just pay the $326 and DMV said the filing hasn’t been released in their system yet so they couldn’t view it, but they did say there were enough fees paid that allowed them to issue a new temporary trip permit (so I’ve got that going for me). This is just ridiculous and I don’t put the blame on the OR DMV.

MGC0216…. I agree. Just waiting to get pulled over by a well intentioned and curious police officer. If I do he/she will hear a long sob/ranting story about the Rivian Title & Registration group….

My guide tells me that the DMV has my paperwork, so we'll see what happens next. The crummy thing is I want to change the plates to Pacific Wonderland so I'll have to deal w/ that nonsense as well but I also need to get my Real ID license, so 2 birds and all that.

Update...Georgia registration effective yesterday after temp tag expired 8-18-22 due to Rivian shorting by around $230. Rivian finally resubmitted and tag is in the mail since yesterday, so may be able to drive legally in a couple of days! Refused rental vehicle...just want to drive my R1T.

What happened to our "1 point of contact (guide)"? No one seems to have ownership, whether it's service requests or the registration process. Absolutely zero updates. Nice people, but the inefficiency for their customers is disturbing.

What happened to our "1 point of contact (guide)"? No one seems to have ownership, whether it's service requests or the registration process. Absolutely zero updates. Nice people, but the inefficiency for their customers is disturbing.

That was the most frustrating part. I’d call support trying to get registration status or documents because I couldn’t get ahold of my guide by phone or email and their response was always “your guide has to handle that because he has all your info”. Days later when I finally get ahold of my guide, the response was always “I’m just the middle man and another department handles registration”. I tried to get put in contact with Rivian title and registration department but they are well protected and would never give me their number.

I just spoke to PennDOT - nothing regarding registration. He searched everywhere and only found the record of my Model S on my plate.

I'm now at day 114 - 24 beyond my temporary registration. (it was issued on May 10)

Yes, and really infuriating as a Rivian stockholder.
Rivian is hemorrhaging enough cash building vehicles without having to spend it on providing rental vehicles due to clerical issues that a 6 year old could probably solve.

What's even more nuts is that PA Attorney General reaching out to them because they didn't meet the state requirement on documentation submittal. That may have the potential of fines and making all future Rivian purchasers from the state do their own sale documentation. The man hours alone to respond are going to vastly exceed rental car fees.

What is even more, more nuts is the likelihood of my vehicle loan not being perfected in a reasonable time and transitioning to an unsecured loan at a MUCH higher interest rate. If that happens, I would absolutely lose my mind.

This experience has been absolute dog shit. I have a 80k truck sitting in my garage because Rivian (via their subcontractor) is incompetent. It's inexcusable.

Judging by the amount of posts about it here - this WILL likely happen to you.

I'm about 60 days in and have been contacting harassing my guide consistently regarding plates for multiple weeks at this point.

Skipping all the frustrations and backlog - I am now being requested to have my spouse sign the limited power of attorney since both our names were on the tags I am trying to transfer (thought it would save time and money to transfer - they aren't vanity plates or anything).

It has now been a week and no email or notification for me to get my spouse to sign anything. My guide continues to reach out to others for an update and I continue to be a thorn in their side with my requests.

Is it really that hard?
