I was just going to say the same. Clearly they that doc was made they didn't know all the details. I'm actually surprised it also shows a power *reduction*, not an increase, for the max pack.

Again, old data sheet. RJ at the time kept saying the 135 pack was the best of all worlds, range and performance. He then made the comment a while later that a person spending the extra for a Max Pack shouldn't be on the low end of performance, so they were going to do some interesting tweaks to keep performance in line with the 135.

I'm still thinking it would be very cool to have the R1S with a maxpack. I'd definitely consider that option and likely get an R1S. But nothing wrong with the R1T other than it does not seat as many people.

I called my insurance agent (State Farm) to obtain insurance on my R1T and she asked if it was a Max Pack. I assume it will be available s0–0n.

Do you know if there is going to be a change in the insurance rate for the Max Pack? to the insurance company, do more batteries mean more risk?

This is the way, this is the vehicle I‘m waiting for: shorter wheel base, better radius, same drivetrain as R1T, enclosed interior, and 370+mi. range…

Probably just higher replacement value. But since max pack owners are obviously the wise and patient subset of Rivian drivers we should probably get a discount on liability. ?

Technically you can put people in the bed if you’ve used up all the seatbelts in the cab, unless the highway traffic act has been updated

Varies by state in the US. Here in Pennsylvania:
"Persons 18 years of age and older may ride in the bed if the vehicle is driven at a speed of no more than 35 miles per hour. No child less than 18 years of age may ride in the bed at any speed."

Pennsylvania is an open carry state, so a prepping your Rivian for the Apocalypse is perfectly legal - as long as you drive under 35. lol.

The R1S is shorter than the R1T, so the unanswered question has been if/where the batteries will fit....
