Do you feel this sealing approach is more viable and easier than other discussed methods?

P.S. If @EV Sportline later determines not to produce a template or seal kit, perhaps someone like Iliya @twraps can produce and sell the aforementioned two-piece seal kit - as they are the masters of PPF, vinyl and other flexible "wraps"?! Maybe even in partnership, since @EV Sportline has all of the CAD geometry - panels, holes and frame brackets? Again, just thinking out loud here!

Seems like good way to fill a gap. EV Sportline and TWraps should talk. They’ve both already taken a lot of my money :)

Ha ha, no, not really. I got as far as a "bench test" and it was no better than I imagined. Looks like too many trouble spots.

Thanks to you and @jebinc for this, now it all makes sense why its a pain in the ass and not worth it lol.

You may not realize we have a new CNC vinyl machine now too :) Any vinyl or PPF needs for us will be cut in-house ??? We have a lot of new vinyl / ppf kits in the works!

We are playing with different seal options, but the challenge here is that the plastic panels are textured so getting vinyl or ppf to stick (and stay attached) is not going to be easy. Stay tuned!

Sounds great, but I do not see vinyl or PPF being a solution for this use case.

For those of you (3x) who voted in the poll that you plan to spend hours fitting plugs, we all look forward to hearing how that works out for you! ☺

I do not see an easy path for eight successfully rubber plugged 4” holes, given the plastic panel and bracket geometry.

March 18th Update:

Funny story....

So... don't get the Gorilla seal "scraps" stuck to your clothing as is isn't coming off!

See attached pictures of the shirt I was wearing the other day when installing my seals. A piece of the stuff, unbeknownst to me, stuck to my sleeve when I was rolling around under the truck... This shirt then went through the washing machine (2 hr cycle) and dryer (50 min cycle). I wore the "clean" shirt again yesterday, as I was busily installing an additional central vacuum for my garage, pellet stove cleanup, etc., and noticed a piece of this Gorilla stuff stuck to my sleeve. I tried pulling it off, but that wasn't happening.

One shirt lost in the battle with the running boards and seals! This stuff IS NOT going to come off of your panels w/o some form of mechanical effort, and solvent, to clean the residual "goo" from the panels and RB brackets! Winner!

^^ Thanks, good tip! I'm mentally preparing myself to do the install today.

I can't wait to hear your report. Let me sketch out a picture of what the seals should look like, when cut!

@madgrey Since the patches are more than a semi-circle in size, and you want to end up with a circular patch and thick over-lap when finished, and given the off-set of the protruding bracket, one half of the seal has a shorter tab cut out than the other. Also, would will need to cut a notch out on the rear seals for where the RB's will later slide/bolt to. Quick and dirty, drawn while standing, sketch - with tab cuts exaggerated to show on seal side tab cut deeper than the other side. This is reversed on the other side of the truck . Good luck!

Thanks @jebinc Looks good. I plan on creating 5-1/2 inch semi-circles on the 4 in tape and then trimming while I install.
