So this must be a hidden feature that was just recently unlocked. My R1T has solar charging! Pulled into the office w/a state of charge at 49% and 142 miles of range, after a few hours sitting in the hot sun it increased to 51% and 147 miles!

What a pleasant surprise. I wish i could come back to my gas-powered vehicle and see a fuller tank.

Ah, yes, riding on sunshine! As it’s springtime (bright sun, increasing angle as we move toward solstice, coolish morning temps = high production), our rooftop solar+storage makes so much power that over a few bright days (without a long trip) we fill the Rivian and the Bolt as well as the two Tesla Powerwalls and curtail production. We are zero export on solar, 100% self consumption (small rural utility, no net metering). My bumper sticker says “My house powers my car”

Nice! This is exactly why using battery percentage or range to determine vampire drain isn’t accurate.
