Almost certainly totaled. Seems to me it would be impossible that doesn't have structural damage beyond reasonable repair. Sorry for this happening, but trucks fall into "stuff" and "stuff" can be replaced. Glad you and son are OK. That is most important part.

100%. We prayed for the other man too. What he did was really bad. But at the end of the day, it’s Material and material get be replaced. Lives can’t. I’m honestly so thankful we had this rivian. I don’t think we would have easily walked away from this sort of crash in a smaller/lighter vehicle.

That is not going to be cheap to repair. The insurance company will declare that a loss.

First off, we are very thankful for being in the R1T. The truck took a massive hit and my son and I walked away mostly un-injured. Tomorrow I will be really pissed that the truck I waited 3 years to get and that is by far the best truck I've ever driven was destroyed. But tonight I am so thankful for how well it was built. You don't take my head on collisions and walk away. The other guy sure didn't. I hope he ends up being ok too. As stupid was what he did was. (we were told at the scene he was drunk.)

I'm not sure what we do next. I assume it will have to go to a Rivian shop, not a normal autobody place. If anybody has any thoughts, ideas, tips, or suggestions on our next moves here please post or direct message me.

Very glad you are okay. I can certainly empathize with the frustration of losing such a wonderful truck...but remember, in the end it's still just a truck. You live for another day.

Like others are saying, there is almost zero chance that your Rivian isn't totalled. Too much damage to the structural parts of the vehicle. Rivians have been totalled for much less.

The most important thing, however, is that you and your son are OK. The R1T can be replaced.

Wow, you are so lucky to been on that rivian, I hope the other guy is ok, that looks very severe, that can’t be fixed, hopefully you don’t have to wait too long for replacement

I'm just glad you guys are ok. That's a rough hit. The vehicle will be replaced. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the new one, but it reminds us all what's really important is walking away with (hopefully) no lasting injuries for you and your family.

Great angle in the last pic. Really happy with the way that impact deflected the oncoming vehicle away from the cabin.

Knowing that you're OK and the truck is likely totaled, am I wrong for thinking you need to snag everything off that truck that isn't bolted to it? Center caps, spare tires, air hose, level 1 charger, first aid kit; I'm also partial to how pretty the rear view mirror is ?
