Thanks to everyone who helped out in this thread. Was a oct 21 preorder, got shop access last week, locking in a launch green, FE interior with 22 brights the next day, picked up from the service center 3 days later. Got it home today!!! Great in every way. Was a very low Vin for the 2023 model year, 221. Has meridian sound system which sounds great. Good luck every one

I was able to get a Glacier White with OC yesterday in the shop. It was the only GC with OC. On a separate note, I finally requested shop access on Wednesday and when I logged on Saturday morning I had it. Dec ‘21 order.
When you requested access, did they tell you they would look into it or try? Or did they tell you no, and then it magically appeared a few days later? I’m a 9/21 pre-order. Tried the chat option for requesting shop access and got shot down. Configuration is GW, BM, AT Dark. Told them I’m flexible, but that didn’t seem to matter at all.

Congratulations!!! That is a very low VIN. I wonder why some take so long to make it for sale from production.
My guess is it is a December build if it has a PN, there was a very short period when they reset the sequence numbers then realized there was an issue in their system and set it back so there are only a few hundred 2023 vehicles with those low numbers.

That’s great.
Worried mine may have had production issues or something. Looked through forum and auctions and seems most in my range were delivered Feb/March.
Can a forum regular remind me of all the changes
1. Meridian sound system
2. Air pump for suspension
Both March changes I believe
3. Driver’s safety improvements
Don’t know what date that changed
4. New subframe parts, more welds?(may be part of the drivers safety)
5. 12v batteries in frunk and under dash along with 12v plugs (random date change ~ March)
6. Anything I’m missing?
Id be thrilled with your build date becuase...
It can’t be a return or it would be considered pre-owned. There were still a few MY22s about a couple of months ago in the shop but I haven’t heard of anyone getting one recently. It is most likely a 23 build but you really don’t know for sure until you lock it in and get the VIN. My guide just recently helped me secure a LE RB 22” OC at a SC near me. (I had been having issues with my shop link so he helped me find one of my favorite builds). It’s being delivered on Tuesday. It was born 04/23.
We are waiting on a MY22 vin in the 11xxs range. Not sure what held it up at the factory for like.... 8 months and my guide won't even acknowledge that it's a low Vin.

Sometimes the simplest answer is the most likely answer. I can't help but wonder if it "got lost" in the sea of vehicles at the factory and just sat there for months....?

I am on the exact same boat as Autolycus. I did my first mile in Atlanta and the guy doing the drive suggested I reach out to customer service since my date is Aug-Sep of this year. He felt there would be a good chance I would get access. Sent the email and got the “you’ll hear back from us in 24-48 hours”. Minus the weekend, it should be today.

they had more than a few I might agree to, the only thing I truly found is I do not like the 21s.

Wow, lots of Atlanta folks in this thread!

Side note: I'm still a little surprised that Rivian doesn't have a 2nd ATL service center on their "in the works" map. North Fulton and East Cobb should be a HOT market for them. A service center in Roswell-Alpharetta area should definitely be on their list.

We need for them to survive first before worrying about a second location. I would rather be inconvenienced in ATL than driving a Rivian with no manufacturer. Ask Delorean owners how they feel.

The Atlanta Service center’s location isn’t convenient but it’s a nice location….
Traffic in Atlanta took me 2 hours to get there 3.5 hours to get home

They had someone’s black R1S with Matte covering. Looked good

It was a try but no guarantee response (via email option).

I got a GW, OC 20”At and adventure package last Thursday. Hadn’t seen once before for a long while. Now the question is when does it catch the southbound train to Atlanta?
Hopefully next week.
Congrats! I picked up a LE / GW/ OC / 20" AT in Atlanta a few weeks ago and it was a breeze. Based on my experience & speaking with my guide and SC employees, vehicles headed to ATL appear to be coming mostly by truck which makes the trip quicker & I'm told reduces shipping damage (and, correspondingly, PDI times).

In my case, it took 6 days from confirming the vehicle in the shop until it was ready for delivery. Per my guide, it was in Normal on 4/13, and cleared PDI & was ready for delivery in ATL on 4/18 so it couldn't have taken more than a couple of days in transit.

Great because my guide thinks it’s is coming by train but isn’t sure where or on what transportation it is on. Why do they call them guides if they do t know where your vehicle is or even how long it takes to mail the charger. Did you get your charger quickly or using something else?

Got an update for everyone. I just completed my intro call with my guide who btw was super cool to speak with! She said the reason why my R1S from the shop has no vin assigned yet is due to it being factory gated. Does anyone truly know what that means? She explained but I didn't understand. Is this an older vehicle that they found issues with and are now correcting?

I told her that I am having doubts about the OC interior choice and if it was possible to find one just like mine that has the BM interior instead. She said she would keep looking as their system refreshes every 15 mins. She even asked if I was open to driving beyond my local SC to pick up a car. I told her I don't mind as long as its within Texas. While on the phone she found one at the Austin SC but the only thing it didn't have was the 22" wheels. She made a note of what I wanted and said if she finds something this afternoon she would immediately reach out.

I'm in Texas and my guide said my R1S would come by train. She said they have access to see where the train is and would update me regularly on its progress once it leaves the factory.

Regarding the charger, she said they like to mail them out 2-3 weeks prior to the vehicles arrival. That way we have time to get it installed prior to pickup.
