Oh, good call out. That damned fin. My tent's 55" long packed. I need to measure, but I think it shouldn't hang out much, if at all.
...just be aware that on the XTR1 rack, you can't slide the RTT aft much more than my photo above without missing the forward crossbar. Thus, you may need to order an additional "intermediate" crossbar to attach your RTT.

My tent is about 76” long. I would like to push as far forward as I can, without going above the antenna fin. My tent has mounting rails that are embedded in the fiberglass shell, unlike most tents that have mounting rail attached to the bottom of the tent. SO, in an effort to keep as low a profile as possible, what I need is a rack height that will allow me to just barely clear the roof all the way to the antenna. Imagine laying a sheet of plywood atop the rack and having it clear the spoiler and elevated roof, but not the antenna. I have been trying, even from XO, to get a definitive answer regarding what rack I would need, with no luck. At one point, XO claimed an 18” rack was spoiler lip height. Recently, I saw where they were stating that it was roof height. Well, which is it? Clearly, an 18” rack will not allow my RTT to clear the roof. I suppose I could rig some spacers. Anyway, thanks EVTrukHog for the good pix.

This is what I was after as well. I am thinking 19" will do the trick for me, but I do have the rails that sit below my tent, so that will lift it up a little. I would think XO would be able to use the model of the truck to measure what height would be needed for a flat plane to clear the spoiler up to the shark fin (Of course with a friend, a level, and a tape measure we could do the same...)

Yeah. 19“ with tent rails will probably do it. I will likely be removing the tent during the off season and I don’t want a really tall rack sitting back there affecting mileage. As I said, I proposed the same flat plane (plywood sheet) scenario to XO, but never got a consistent answer. Seemed like a pretty clear example to me ? In the end, I will probably get a 18” or 19” rack and rig some spacers, as needed.

Not sure if this is helpful, but looks like they claim 23" is crossbar height and 18" is rear spoiler height, so maybe you could use that to work backwards for the antenna? It's a little tricky since the glass is curved, but crossbars add about 4" of height. If I were to guess, I'd say you might want closer to 20".

I hear ya, but I shouldn’t have to guess. The answer is really, really simple to determine, if one has an R1T and access to the various racks. Helloooooo XO.

You'll have to be careful in the 14"-16" height to ensure your RTT is mounted far enough aft to avoid the delicate fin. This rack is 18" and you can see the RTT sits just above the fin... any lower and I'd have to slide the entire RTT aft several inches... which may require an additional crossbar for mounting the RTT.

This is the exact setup I want. Exact.

I just got my rack in the other weekend configured with the 19” height, heres a few pictures of how it looks.

Hard to tell for sure from that angle, but it sure doesn’t look like 19” will clear the roof behind the antenna. So as to avoid the rack sticking up above the roof and creating drag (when my RTT is off), I’m thinking that using some shims to raise my tent may be the best answer. If it’s not too much trouble, can you set something on that 19” rack that would show if/or where the object hits the roof? Thanks.

Hey, Sean. Thanks for the heads up on these tent quick releases. I really like the concept. I’ll check them out.

Definitely wont clear the antena w/o risers applied.

Don’t want to clear the antenna! I want to stay below the antenna height, yet barely clear the roof right up to the antenna.

Thanks! Looks like 19" should work for my needs, and not blocking the gear guard camera is an added bonus.

PSA: if you're parking your mounted RTT in the garage - or using a garage ceiling hoist system to store the RTT - ensure your rack height with RTT mounted can fit underneath your garage door header. My 18" rack and Skycamp Mini just barely fit into my garage....less than 2" to spare with truck in low height setting.
