EV Sportline R800 Wheels + Falken WildPeak A/T3W Tires installed photos

Got these rims just a couple of days ago, programmed the tpms myself, and brought these to discount tire to get the wildpeak at3ws installed.

Haven't driven it enough to know the impact on efficiency yet, I was running 21s originally, however the looks cannot be beat!

Anyways - just wanted to share for anyone considering. Rivian is coming out today to update my software to the 20"s.

So, question: if Rivian has to update software to accommodate the 20" wheels, do they need to reconfigure the vehicle EVERY TIME you swap tires? IE: if I wanted to get a set of ATs for winter + weekend rock crawling, but am swapping back to the 21" during non-winter and non-offroading weekends, do I have to have them come out every single time?

Or once it recognizes the particular TPMS that's installed, will it simply go "OK, that's the config for me today?"

Because it'd be a real bummer if I can't just do my own wheel swaps when I need to...

Yeah, so if you're only putting them on for a weekend I think you'd be fine to keep you system software set to 21s.

Ultimately the benefit of switching the software really comes in when you need the accurate range estimates, and you want your car to have the correct info.

I'm not sure what short-term benefits it has, all of the ones seem like long-term.

Essentially tho, yes, the guy had a laptop and had to physically touch the car to do it.

I hope one day they'll make the process easier tho for a uas case like yours. I wish the tpms could trigger something like that, however they read normally when it was set to 21"s

Dang, yes that's disappointing--I hope you're right that they enable the ability for us to swap tires in the future.

I'm assuming since this is an elective switch, we'll have to pay Rivian to come out and make the change, too.. Any idea how much they're charging for this service?

That is how things stand for now. No user accessible settings to change wheel size like Tesla or other makers as yet. I think other users just leave it programmed for their main set, and just accept things will be off when out playing. I am just going to monitor efficiency (between 22” and 20”) - the configuration based range estimates are very misleading IMO.

The work orders had it being 60 bucks today, it was handled via mobile service, and it was done in 10 minutes or so

BTW: Those R800's look really sharp. I've been toying with the idea of grabbing a set of 5 from EV Sportline over buying the Rivian 20" OEMs. I'm sort of hoping they have a black Friday sale or Veterans' Day sale or something...

They're lighter then the oems even though they're flow forged and the oems are forged. They feel really sturdy as well.

Price seems pretty decent - the tech did say sometimes it takes 5 minutes and sometimes it fails and takes 3 hours - I was one of the lucky ones this morning.

Do you think it's better/easier/most cost effective to just get the wheels and then have a local installer grab you tires and TPMS? I was just going to get the full package with tires already mounted and balanced because they're (EV Sportline) throwing in 'free' TPMS and free shipping.

Yeah so it's definitely more convenient to get it all from them.

I paid 250 for the tpms and device to copy them - which took me 5 minutes to do (once it was updated).

I then paid I think 2600 for all 5 rims.

Then I paid about 2200 for the tires themselves. The cost for the package would have been 5800 - So it worked out to be a cost savings of around 600 - 800 bucks depending on your taxes.

The things I considered in addition was the cost I paid included mounting, a tire warranty with discount tire, and I now have the tpms machine (not that I will ever have to use it again persay) - but a good thing to have.

I would highly recommend the rims and the at3ws

I was told by my Rivian Guide that a Rivian Service Center would not recalibrate aftermarket rims and tires. Did something change? Will they recalibrate now without any issues to the owner? -

Ah, interesting! I cant say one way or the other on if its possible, I haven't tried or talked to anyone yet. I'll probably just chat with the service techs on the day of my appointment and see what they say. We'll see ?
