Can someone who knows more about wheels than me (ie, most people) tell me if this wheel is compatible with the R1T? I've had this one recommended with winter tires (Blizzaks) for the winter. I noticed the offset is 25, which I think is lower than the stock 21s I have now.

And different diameter, which I'm going to ask Rivian if they can adjust in the software.

Thanks!

I believe that should be good depending on what size tire you are planning to use. The stock wheels are a 48mm offset if I recall, but others here who have done some wheel swapping say that as long as the offset is greater than 18mm you should be ok. Hopefully some of those folks who have actually done it will also chime in...

For legal reasons, they will only adjust settings to one of the three tire sizes they offer, and it has to be on the vehicle at that time.

Thanks. Would go with the 20"

Hmm, good point. It looks like they have the same (or very similar) diameter as the stock 20s, so that would be good enough IF they'll do it!

They are sticklers for following their own rules to the letter when it comes to tires.
If you originally had 22"s and roll in to the SC with 20" Pirelli OEM tires mounted on Rivian wheels on your vehicle.. they will adjust your tire size to that tire. They will not adjust your vehicle that currently has 22's on it to 20" settings on request.
They have said that eventually they will enable user tire size adjustment like Tesla does through the vehicle GUI... but it took Tesla years to get to that point in SW development.

you'll need hub centric rings as the hub bore on this wheel is larger

Also! 275/60r20 tires are the same diameter as the 21” OEM so you don’t have to change the software, especially if you’re only using these as a winter set.

Are we sure about this? I know that was the case months ago, and certain SCs are sticklier than others. I did a service ticket and said I got 275/60/20 and needed 21" calibrated, they tried OTA first and then added it to my next service when OTA didn't take.

If you got tires that essentially match the same exact size you've already had, what exactly do you need calibrated? Or am I misreading?

I'm still really interested in *what exactly* gets calibrated. The vehicle has a suspension that adjusts itself (raises and lowers the truck, so... clearly the cameras and telemetry data are already capable of adjusting on the fly). I am under the impression that the 0.5" difference between outer diameters of these tires is going to make an appreciable impact on...anything other than a few percentage points on the speedometer.

I had 20" with stock 275/65/20, 34" diameter. I, and many others, have changed to 275/60/20, 33" diameter, the same diameter as the 21" and 22" stock wheels.

Camera difference is negligible but noticeable. The RPM change is 3%, quite a lot at high speeds and lots of distance over time.

Gotcha--I didn't realize you were switching sizes.

I currently have the 21s, and hope to get the same size you recommended (275/60/20) on some rims for off-roading and winter setup later this year.

Thanks for clarifying!

For those that are interested, I've ordered them and will be picking them up next week. I'll update here with impressions (I'll try them on for size right away, but won't put them on completely until winter is knocking).

Picked up the wheels/tires today. All looks fine. I had them try one on for size, and it looked fine. I won’t put them all on for awhile, so no useful commentary yet, other than they appear to fit. This was the only picture I took while they were working. My old Subaru tires were a lot easier to lug around than these behemoths ;)

The tech didn’t think it was going to fit in the spare tire compartment, but it slid in just fine. Happy I now have a spare!

Rivian R1T R1S Is this wheel compatible with R1T? (updated with efficiency test and pics) 4AA48CA6-B610-4B30-851A-0B6C60A84A98
