I know Tint Plus in Laguna Hills did several Employee trucks, but would like options.

I'm likely to use Essence Motorsports like HAL9000 above. I'm planning full stealth PPF on a forest green R1S arriving shortly.

I haven't used them before, but found them 2+ years ago when I put down the deposit. Great online reputation. They've done 40+ Rivians they say.

Two random things I learned from Essence:

Be careful with very dark tint on sunroofs, as apparently high heat can cause cracked glass (at least they've see it on a couple of Teslas).

You can black out the chrome trim around the roof with PPF, but there are small portions at discontinuities (I believe above the C pillar) that they can't wrap, so I assume spot paint would be needed.

I booked with Essence to do the front PPF. I might do the doors as well, but it’s pretty pricey.

Holding off on tint for a bit. Never tinted a car before, not sure I want it. I don’t want the car to be dark on the inside.

Yeah Jake at Essence will take good care of y'all. They also did ceramic coating ontop of my wrap.

I dropped by RPM (thanks rmalzo) and got a quote, similar pricing to Essence. The owner Mark's R1S is well-wrapped and they showed me the edges etc. Looks like they do great work. For me it came down to location and schedule.

I've done very light tint on other cars' windshield and driver/passenger windows, just for heat rejection. It makes a big difference and you barely see it.

Holding off on tint for a bit. Never tinted a car before, not sure I want it. I don’t want the car to be dark on the inside.

Make sure you ask them about the edges. It's important that your edges are done right too.

Hey folks, for "full" PPF, did that include the glossy black A-pillars, portion above the windshield, and all the lower plastic trim on the front/rear bumpers / side skirts? The reason I ask is I originally assumed full meant everything. But talking to a few, I'm now being told that they mean all the body-color panels.

I did matte on the body color pieces including upper half of mirrors. Clear gloss on the front lights, A pillars, mirror arms, area above windshield. Black gloss on the chrome strip over the windows (including the little crack by the C pillar). Nothing on the plastic trim. Super happy with it; shoutout to Essence Motorsports. (Paint is Forest Green with Forest Edge interior.)

I'd recommend NXT Level Auto Protection in Tustin. They get great reviews (google and yelp) and do some crazy cars (when I did my R1S they were doing a pair of Porsche 918s which are about $3M each). They're a sponsor of Cars & Coffee in San Clemente and do many of those cars there. They don't use Xpel but Llumar and have longer warranties. Prices were really reasonable as well. They're really close to the Rivian offices and they do a ton of their employees' cars. Ask for the employee discount and you'll get great pricing. The guy I dealt with was Jace and he knew his stuff.
