Looks like you are basing your calculations off the 135kwh dual motor Large pack which gets 352 miles of range. If you use the data on the EPA site, it looks like the max pack is 175 kWh. A year or more ago, Rivian was saying the max pack would be 180 kWh. But at 175 kWh, the estimated range for the max pack sense when using the large pack EPA figures.

43 kWh/100 miles = 2.32 mi/kWh
352 miles of range / 2.32 = 152 kWh
410 miles of range / 2.32 = 177 kWh
Or another way
78 MPGe x 150 kWh / 33.7 kWh = 347 miles of range
78 MPGe x 175 kWh / 33.7 kWh = 405 miles of range
Seems like 175 kWh usable pack to me. I am super excited to see if this plays out in real world testing. But using EPA figures:
74 MPGe x 175 kWh / 33.7 kWh = 384 miles of range on the highway.
I expect at 80 mph, we won't see 384 miles of range. Maybe 350?
Hmmm.Looks like you are basing your calculations off the 135kwh dual motor Large pack which gets 352 miles of range.
Those kWh/100mi figures always include charging losses. It's confusing because you can't math actual capacity out of it since the charging losses aren't in this data.If you use the data on the EPA site, it looks like the max pack is 175 kWh. A year or more ago, Rivian was saying the max pack would be 180 kWh. But at 175 kWh, the estimated range for the max pack sense when using the large pack EPA figures.
It more like 128kWh usable.Hmmm.
Thats true. Using 135 kWh the EPA numbers don't make sense.
Now that you mention it 135 kWh has been what we have been told for some time. It is frustrating the EPA numbers don't validate that capacity. I got all excited for nothing.
Fascinating. None in mine, and I just double checked. Also on FB, someone reported that there are several DM Max Packs in the R1 Shop.
Did they add a filter for the Max Battery Pack in the Shop?heh just came here to mention it...

Same here. Only one DM Large Pack available.Fascinating. None in mine, and I just double checked.
I think that's because that's all there is to it.I really hope this is true but I would have expected Rivian to provide more details about the max pack other than to just say it’s more energy dense before it actually gets released. Regardless, I hope it’s true and my December 2023 estimated delivery date is a legit possibility.
Some dude on social media said his max pack is available for pickup next week. Pretty exciting stuff!
It was Feb. 2019
I asked him. He has a Oct/Nov window. He lives in Wisconsin so that could have an impact.

It’s $7,000 over the cost of the dual motor for pre-Mar 2022 order holders. But we try not to think about that and instead focus on those 50 miles. ?Can't believe he paid $10k for 50 miles of range theoretical which will probably be 30 miles real world range, I mean I really can't believe anyone finds $10k worth of value in that the return on investment feels very lopsided.
that's ever so slightly less crazy...lolIt’s $7,000 over the cost of the dual motor for pre-Mar 2022 order holders. But we try not to think about that and instead focus on those 50 miles. ?
I mean I hear you. For a new customer it is a $10k upcharge, at least as currently advertised.that's ever so slightly less crazy...lol
But being that quad motor large pack starts at I think 330 miles (conserve mode) of range for me personally and I often drive a 400 mile route, I will get 225 min miles and 280 max miles on this trip which I have done around 10 times in the past year, that means the 50 miles extra range with my real world outcomes = minimum 33 miles max 42 miles extra range is what most drivers will experience.
