Hi,

So I’m in an odd spot. I’m a reservation holder since 9/21 and was recenty asked to confirm my configuration for delivery. I originally had an R1T reserved, but switched to an R1S only 10 days ago. I had calculated the price difference between the two with the same options as $5,000.

I got cold feet for the S and chatted today to see if they could switch me back to the T. They did, no problem. The issue is that while I was reviewing the config I noticed the quad pack was now a $1,500 option on my T. It was definitely a $500 option on the S I just had moments earlier, I have screen prints from both with my pre-March pricing that confirms this. Now, there is only a $4,000 difference in pricing between exactly the same T vs S.

I brought this up in chat and the person explained that the pre-March price of the Adventure R1T is $73k even though my screenshot shows $70k quite clearly. He then explained that he forgot about the removal of the power tonneau cover that removed $1,500. So he says that the actual price is $73k, but they removed $1,500 for the PTC. To make this math work, he says my base price is $70k, but they charge $1,500 for the max pack. That seems all wrong to me.

Perhaps I‘m mistaken or losing my mind. I would appreciate thoughts, reviews, and inputs to show me I’m correct or to educate me in the error of my ways.

I’ve attached my R1S build from this AM and then the R1T build after the rep changed it. The only difference is the cargo cover for $250. Removing that, the price diff is $4,000 but it should be $5,000, right?

Thanks

They've restructured it a couple times, this was what I paid on my launch edition in march 22.

So you have several things different. Your price for base is what they quote, but you have the 22” bright sport, quad motor, and PTC all included for no cost. Those bright sports and quad cost a total of $5k in my config and of course the PTC is not available. If they removed it and credit $1500, that’s $6500 worth to play with. I do get the underbody for $1700, but no option for a full size spare. It seems you are actually getting more truck at a lesser price. Does that make sense?

It seems they are making it unnecessarily complex and it feels like they are being disingenuous while they play with the numbers. I was promised a certain truck at a certain price. I know shit happens and they certainly overpromise, but I don’t appreciate the funny math.

I'm still not seeing the pricing issues you're talking about. I think the part that's confusing you is that it shows on your pic that adventure package is $70k and his is showing $73k but with Quad included and yours at $1500. The way I'm seeing it is that the Quad motor $1500 you see in your pic is baked into the original $73k that both adventure package and launch edition started at so in his pic it shows included. When you remove the powered cover from that $73k, it ends up starting at $71,500 which is where yours starts too before you factor in the other options you chose.

Not sure where the $5k extra for Quad motor and 22" wheels is coming from (22" wheels are $1800+$1500 from your screenshot for Quad motor = $3300), but the wheels didn't cost him anything because his is launch edition. LE vehicles get free wheel upgrades, except for the darks. I paid $3500 for mine since I got the 20" darks. I could've gotten the other wheels too and not pay but I like the darks.

Everything looks a-okay as far as pricing goes.

I didn’t notice his was LE so that makes sense. And I did quote the wrong number for the 22” brights. It still doesn’t add up in my head but I’m probably just stuck on the idea, I’m sure I’ll figure it out someday. :)

Thanks for your help on this.
