Well… my chat session said to go ahead and charge after confirming answer…. Hmmm. Riv is taking a charge at 10.6. Kinda desperate for the juice for tomorrow. Same message on not restarting.

Usually don’t update until after a day or two, but was excited for the iphone unlock fixes. Lesson learned…

I am sure that electrafi's customer base is not 100% representative, but around 12% of their users got this bad update before rivian stopped distributing it.

If this did require an in-person fix, it would likely take them a month or more to get to everyone.

Is there any way to sell some RIVN before news of this goes mainstream?

As someone who works in IT, it seems like they probably did QA testing by physically installing the update, then pushed the PROD via OTA. Not good.

They push the updates to the beta group as OTA.

Same issue here. Just constant boot loop. Spoke with service and they mentioned deep sleep and wait for an overnight fix. New update push apparently. Very unfortunate!

If this did require an in-person fix, it would likely take them a month or more to get to everyone.

Based on what? If the updated release can't install for some percentage of people, I would expect all Rivian has to do is plug in a laptop and load the fixed firmware or whatever was corrupted. The last time they asked us to do something like this it was a drive-up 15 minute deal with no appointment needed, although they might want you to stick around for the hour or so it takes to initiate and complete the update after that.

To add insult to injury, I’m in Los Angeles and our major freeway just burned down, so if I have to figure out how to make my way to the service center this week I’m going to be really really pissed.

They have sold a lot more vehicles since then and the service centers were not so overwhelmed back then. I am still 2 months away from my appointment to fix the defects that I reported 4 months ago.

Plus, for this one if they can't fix it via an OTA, they would have to come to us or arrange a tow. It's not just that the update won't install, the update broke the vehicle.
