Update failed to install, after reaching 90%. I’m on chat
Center display is blank, but periodically shows the large Rivian logo like the software is starting up. The Driver display shows Ready and gear selector, range remaining.

Mine is in a reboot loop. Rivian support has been notified. They just said they are working on it.

To add insult to injury, I’m in Los Angeles and our major freeway just burned down, so if I have to figure out how to make my way to the service center this week I’m going to be really really pissed.

Whoa! I need to spend less time worrying about updates and more time watching the news. Good luck with that!

Count yourself lucky. I really wish I had been on the day-2 update list this time.

Count me among those that got a failed update, also one of the 28 or so showing on ElectraFi. Service didn't tell me to not charge or let it go to sleep though...but they did say they hope to have another update pushed sometime tonight. This will teach me to install immediately when I get the notification. At least my truck was home safe in the garage. Sadly, I have a tandem garage so the spare car is behind the truck. It did seem to fail in a way it would be drivable, so I can probably at least move it out of the garage to get the spare if I need it tomorrow.

As a software engineer I'm shocked this particular failure mode happened. Props to their software team for at least owning up to it *quickly* and stopping the rollout as soon as they were made aware of the problem. I really hope they're able to fix this with another push rather than requiring service to get involved.
