They investor group likely had an option to purchase a larger chunk if certain milestones were met.

I know there were talks of going public September 2021, but I would be surprised if Rivian did so without having EV's out on the street.

Now that they've shored up some extra cash (I'm sure people want to throw it at them) they can make the roll out push. Once their first run of vehicles are out, I think the rest will fall into place and the IPO thereafter Q1 2022 (guessing).

More importantly Q1 2022 I hope I got my Max Pack R1T!
