Yes that "tone" is crazy loud too.. my dog took off the first time I turned my unit on. I also disabled it..

I’m not sure why, but mine doesn’t turn off ever….
And I have questions about the fuses. The video is not clear at all.
It doesn’t mention values or talk about the fuse holder having two spots…
I just assumed. But feels incorrect…
Kit came with red 10a fuse…
And installation said to remove the red 10a fuse on the panel but shows putting both fuses back into the holder/wire included with kit… yet video shows a blue and yellow fuse! WTH?

anyhow, I have two 10A red fuses in the holder/jumper thing, and all installed like the instructions yet I routed the power wire across the dash and over the steering wheel so as not to see any wires at all. Vs having a dangler under the center screen as shown in the video…

anyhow, something is not right… I can’t screen mirror either. And one of main reasons I got this thing. It says it’s not avail. I have iPhone15pro max so assume I’m lucky and it’s not compatible. I may be removing this and selling it if I can’t get this fixed. But would like some help or support. Anyone else had these issues?

every time I’ve approached my truck I see the screen is still on! Even without my phone or fob or both with me. Just tried to see if it was being awakened… but no… it’s always on. Every morning of sitting over night it never shuts off.

I’m sure I put it he fuse adapter thing in the exact one shown in the video. But maybe my truck is diff than the one used for installation video???
Fuse colors def are not the same!

2 - It will turn off when your rivian turns off....which depends on how you setup your keys / proximitry.

3 - There is a power button on the top of the Smart Screen

4 - Screen mirroring works with youtube or videos on your phone, but will not work for streaming services - they have licensing blocks on sharing.

Did you try to turn off proximity unlock/lock and just have it locked at home? See if that will shut it off. That will rule out that something is just keeping your truck awake and not going to sleep.

Anyone do the latest Rivian OTA Update with this unit plugged in? Any issues? I'm a bit paranoid and therefore unplugged the EV1 Unit before doing the latest OTA. Just checking if there as been any issues doing the Rivian OTA updates with this unit plugged in.

You bet I unplugged mine! I had my truck bricked a year ago from the 12V batteries draining during update ><.

Just finished installing them on my R1T and R1S. It wasn't easy due to the limited foot well spaces. The step by step installation video was missing a key step and contains an error but otherwise was very helpful for a novice such as myself. Thank you EVSportline!

Hi! First off the driver's footwell is tight for even average American to work under there, lol. The video didn't show the actual power connection between the fuse wire and the ground wire bundle. The fuse was not pre-attached to the fuse wire as stated on the video. The other thing I noticed was there is no blue light indicator that comes on after power is established as shown on the video. It was also very difficult to keep the excess wires from getting too close to the steering gear column. Routing the wire from the screen to the fusebox took more time than anything else, lol. Otherwise, they worked as advertised. I like them ?
