Rivian charger or Tesla universal charger?

Hi all! Im in the process of getting a
lvl 2 wall charger for my R1S quad which is better rivian charger or tesla universal charger?and which charging app is better rivian or tesla?

The Rivian charger is fine, but doesn’t provide any real useful features except you can see it in the Rivian app (but can’t control it, at least with whatever s/w version mine is on).

Personally, I prefer super dumb chargers. They’re cheap, don’t break, and don’t get fussy with questionable software.

I would purchase the least intelligent EVSE if I were you. Unless you think you will need all the information that is available. I have the Tesla Universal Charger and it works great. I am not happy that I have to wait a while for its handshake negotiation to decide that it is OK to charge a non Tesla vehicle. Our older EVSE just plugs in and the light changes to blue or green quickly to let me know all is good.

Neither. Chargepoint Flex is the way.

Check with your utility provider to see if they provide any EVSEs at a discount. Usually they do and usually that’s the best choice.

I have the Tesla universal. It works amazing and the adapter is super small. And cheaper…. Lol

IMO, Tesla one over Rivian.

cheaper, thinner (more pliable) cord, more future proof with built in adapter.

the app is nothing special but if you plan on using Superchargers on the discount plan, you’ll manage it all in one place.

I would say Rivian. I don’t have one, as we have two ChargePoint homeflex charges; but we need to login and out of as you cannot have two charges for the same account/app.

Rivian everything will be in just 1 app. So next time, I would just go with Rivian and it just goes with the theme.

What bout the speed? Tesla says it can charge 44 miles per hour while Rivian 25 miles per hour or it just depends on the amps your gettin?
