I own a business and use PP for cards. They do the charge right away, we don't get to choose this.
Then don't use PP, where there is a will there is a way. Blaming the CC processor is just a cop out.

They lied. In fact the lying may be illegal in itself.
It is most definitely not a lie to say that it "may" void warranty...

I already knew this would be the immediate response. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with their method. I didn't "blame" anyone since it's a valid business process that you just happen to not like. We can second guess banking options all day and we will never come up with one right answer. I've run businesses for many decades, and used a dozen banks and processors.

If I were MPP I'd simply return the $8 so I'd never hear about it again. It cost more to talk about it. And if I were OP, I would have ignored the cost because it's not unreasonable. Seeing the full conversation is very informative about how many people it takes to Tango and create a problem over nothing.

And no, it's never the principle of the thing. It's just stubbornness and narcissism.
If the product is used and it causes the vehicle to overextend the suspension and break something, or allow you to run in too low of a suspension, and break something, Rivian is 100% within their rights to void the warranty on your suspension components that were broken as a result of the use of this device.

It should also be mentioned that this is one of the things we do as a part of our development. The purpose of our pre-order phase is to get long-term testing running in parallel to confirm there won't be any unexpected side-effects.

Lowering links have been used on air-suspension equipped cars for a long time, and the concept here is no different. Used in a sensible way (as ours only allow for "sensible" adjustments), we are confident these will play nice for many years of enjoyment!

Of course, if you're not certain or uncomfortable about modifying your vehicle, you shouldn't do it!

I've hit the bump stops without having anything aftermarket that lowers my vehicle. Obviously how you drive and where you drive change the equation, but I wouldn't go any lower on my truck unless I was willing to eat the cost of replacing broken suspension stuff.

Going higher won't let you run larger tires if you're actually doing difficult off-road stuff, because the truck will still fully tuck a wheel onto the bumpstop if it's supporting the majority of the vehicle's weight. I'm glad you guys have a disclaimer on your site because I see a definite risk here.

Mine get delivered tomorrow. Only planning to level out the rake in standard mode. We'll go from there. I should have them installed by this weekend.

The factory suspension LIVES in the bumpstops in low and lowest. The main inspiration for this product was to raise the front slightly so that low mode was tolerable, and so that the car "lands" on both bumpstops evenly.

It's very annoying when the front goes solid followed by the rear smashing into it a few moments later.

Thanks for hearing my grievances (founded or not).
To be honest, my takeaway here is that I wouldn't want to do business with either of you. MPP's last two responses were pretty unprofessional to be sure, but they were right that you never responded to confirm, and your communications were pretty brusque and hostile throughout.

Treating people like people is a great life hack in general.

I installed my set of LLL and went +4 front and 0 rear and so far so good. Gives a good look in standard right height. Ride quality seems the same as stock but truck does have a better stance.

the front links are such a bitch to remove the stock torx bolt. I’m pretty sure I cursed out the engineer or the designed a few times.

I appreciate MMP and believe OP is an entitled individual who didn’t read the emails or policy. MMP is %100 in the right here

Tell me you've never run a small business without telling me you've never run a small business.

This makes me *want* to do business with MPP - seems they were very reasonable until the OP decided they didn't want to abide by the fine print and whined about $8. OP is lucky they were even getting a refund - don't buy something and then back out because you thought it was "too difficult" to install. Complete lack of due diligence on their part and then they expect the company to make it right? Entitlement at its finest.

Agreed. I've never run a small business and it's still beyond me how anyone can come to OP's defense here...he was a) in the wrong, b) rude about it, and c) tried to run a smear campaign after they made him whole and politely asked him to take his business elsewhere. At least he acknowledged that he may be off base...uhh, ya think?
