Did Gen 2 custom builds just get delayed? ?

Did anyone who ordered an R1S Gen 2 custom build have their expected availability/delivery time frame totally removed from their Rivian configuration page?

I placed a custom build order the day of the refresh announcement. Everything went well. But when I received my original confirmation I noticed it was missing the Performance Upgrade. So, I contacted Rivian and have been asking them for a few weeks to get this added to my config. I finally heard back yesterday that the Performance Upgrade was added to my config. I visited my config page to ensure everything was good (and it is), except I noticed something odd: the expected availability/delivery window time frame that’s always been at the top of the configuration page was totally missing.

I’m wondering if this has something to do with the change Rivian made to my config, or if there is something more widespread happening (e.g., is Rivian delaying Gen 2 custom build orders?).

Same here. My Rivian guide said my order queue is not affected. I made like three changes haha, partly due to the availability of the Slate Sky interior.

Did you contact your guide after / because you noticed your estimated date disappeared, and they essentially told you not to worry?

Based on your response I’m now wondering if Rivian removed the estimated time frame for everyone, and if there’s something going on.

My Tri-Max R1S order is still showing Sept-Oct.

The delay may not be just for custom orders. i pulled the trigger on a similar config on June 8th from the shop. Even though my account still says 1-2 weeks for purchase process to open and shop still says 1-6weeks delivery to Denver SC zip code as of today I will not be getting delivery within that 6 week window. On Friday July 12 I reached out to SC and they tell me my config is delayed, and suggesting the dynamic roof may be the issue??? I got the impression that perhaps a 4-6 week delay may be expected.

The other consideration which is my pure speculation is that perhaps a few early glitches may have been found with early production Gen 2 vehicles - as was pointed out by a few posts of G2 vehicles delivered in late June. If that is the case I would not be surprised production is slowed until those issues are resolved and I am being patient - just in case that is the real cause of delays.

My Tri-Max R1S order is still showing Sept-Oct.

I wonder if Rivian removed the expected time frames on the config pages for only those who are expecting their vehicles between now and September.

We probably don't know the real reason for the delay? the SC did tell me that if I wanted a vehicle in the next week or two, I could pick from local inventory but then again my exact config is probably not available. In my case i have to take delivery by end of Sept, so i will be patient for a while.

Mine still says August - September 2024. I have a similar config to you minus the performance upgrade and the dynamic roof.

The online build tool is still showing dual standard configs as August - September

I picked an R1S from the shop with a dynamic roof on June 11, Seattle area. I've started the steps but not able to schedule a delivery date yet. We'll see what happens...

I heard from Rivian but their response was confusing, so I am waiting for them to respond again to confirm what I believe they were trying to communicate to me: that for any build orders that experience a change after the order is placed, the config page will automatically remove the estimated delivery timing from the page.

Will update when I can confirm.

Back in my days. Oh lord, I sound so old. When I had a confirmed reservation from 2021-2023.

Anytime we made changes to our config, our estimate date would disappear until the next database fresh typically on a quarterly basis.
