The Hummer wheel was $50 on CL with a 1/4-used BFG KO2 on it.

I *may* have a line on a matching wheel...I thought...then the guy says it's worth $1k. Sigh. $500, maybe.

I wanted a fully working spare. And for $45, why not.

This also opens up the benefit of having five wheels in the "tire rotation" scheme.

You're right in that the full-sized tire will not fit horizontally in the compact spare compartment. But it will fit vertically. And it will fit as a piece of cargo, there is at least 40x78 inches of cargo area. The tire is only 34, so either with seats folded down or removed.
