I placed an order for a custom R1S (Dual Max) at the end of July and beyond the quoted "August - September" estimated delivery during the build process I was never shown another updated delivery estimate until yesterday when my configuration profile updated to "pending estimate". Hope we get more updates soon.

Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Something seems off. I have been unsuccessfully trying to get someone from Rivian to provide me with an update for 10+ days. I’ve yet to receive a single response.

I just checked in via Chat/Support about the "processing estimate". They said vehicle is pending fulfillment and in production, finally. But can't tell how long it takes for the purchase process to start. :(

Well, this is the first time I got (almost) useful answers from someone. Still no idea when to expect the vehicle, but at least it's in production and didn't fall off the backlog. It's a build I've seen many times in the shop already, just a different color, so I'm not sure they like me, otherwise they would have built it 4-6 weeks ago :D

My tri-motor R1T just says, "processing estimate." When I placed the order it said, October - November.
Yeah I ordered mine in July and it said based on my zip code which is located right outside of the Rivian plant that I would have October November delivery of a tri motor ascend only to submit my order and then have my timeline say up to 6 months which pushes it back to January February.

I contacted Rivian directly and all they've told me is that they believe I should have a car by year-end however they cannot confirm that, despite they were able to put my ZIP code in and see while building the configurator for my car that I was being told October November delivery.

This is always been an issue, is still an issue, and probably will remain an issue into the foreseeable future with these vehicles sadly.

You just got to roll the dice and either wait wait wait, or like I've done twice before order a vehicle only to be defacto forced into something that was available in the R1 shop.

Still “processing estimate”… anyone get any update yet?

I sent an email to customer support for clarification but no response. They’ve responded to prior inquiries in ~ 1 business day. Not this time.

Exact same here. “Processing” and customer support won’t respond (have been very responsive previously).

Same. I checked the “graphql” api response and it says “pending fulfillment” but that doesn’t really mean anything I guess. My experience with the Chat is pretty good, much faster and easier than email. I sent them an email last week and haven’t gotten a response either.

Good thinking. Love someone that knows how to check/ping the backend.

The chat is certainly more responsive (by default), but I find they’re significantly less helpful. So, we can either wait and hope for a somewhat helpful response via email, or get a prompt but unhelpful response from chat. Pick your poison.

Rivian R1T R1S Did Gen 2 custom builds just get delayed? ? 1723826688224-bg
There is hope. Mine (R1S dual motor, max pack, forest green paint, ocean coast interior) became ready for purchase on August 10 after being purchase opens in 1-2 weeks for 15 days. Prior to that, my status also was configuration confirmed with no timeline. The timeline disappeared for me shortly after placing the order in the beginning of June, after I contacted Rivian to change the color.

Back in my days. Oh lord, I sound so old. When I had a confirmed reservation from 2021-2023.

Anytime we made changes to our config, our estimate date would disappear until the next database fresh typically on a quarterly basis.
?????? This is the correct answer!!!

Crazy that Rivian seems to have both too much supply AND demand at the same time (from the perspective of an outside observer).

Rivianroamer.com reports > 700 gen 2 vehicles in the shop. Even if we assume that they're double-listing some of those as Large+ packs, seems crazy they're not fulfilling custom orders. Also Rivian, if you're listening, there's all of Canada that's still waiting for shop access to gen 2 vehicles!!
:crying:
