You can go into whichever drive mode you are using to change the ride height settings.

He's fast. That's why he's chilling in a burning house. Still.

The key detail in the latest update you're looking for is this:

> In Dual-Motor vehicles, the Auto ride height setting turns on after 4 hours since your last drive.

Auto will always re-enable after your vehicle sleeps for too long.

Willing to bet this is to mitigate the whine-fest about tire wear... to keep people from driving in lower ride heights when they shouldn't (since Dual's default is FWD).

Nope. EPA requirement.

Write Rivian customer service and ask them for a better way to allow you to keep your last used drive mode settings, such as a prompt you can easily respond to via the steering wheel when you put the vehicle in drive. "Keep previously selected drive mode / suspension settings?" If you tap a button indicating "yes" within 5 seconds then it will leave you alone and not reset. I think this would technically comply with the ridiculous EPA requirement and allow you to more easily keep your preferred settings more accessible. The Lightning had this prompt to stay in sport mode at every drive. It was annoying, but the Rivian's current behavior is much worse. I have to go through the suspension settings at work to quickly put my settings back to sport mode since my parking garage has such a low ceiling.

Well that defeats the default change.
my concern for this; wear and tear on the lift hydraulics.

Nope. No whine fest. I don’t have issues with shelling out 1400 on new tires. But hydraulics would be another story. With the day to day driving with a combination of stop and go and expressway driving think about how many times hydraulics are getting activated.

I think you mean the air suspension, but yes. This change seems to be related to EPA requirements as the vehicles were tested and given their mileage ratings with auto suspension on, therefore that must be the default when the vehicle is "started".

Posted in the other similar thread, but this auto feature almost caused me to lose my antenna. Low clearance garage, need to be in low suspension mode, and the latest software tries to raise the car multiple times before I'm able to back out of the garage safely. Super annoying, and I'm sure that I'll be at fault if I tear off my antenna one of these days.

Was not personal and shouldn't be taken as personal if it doesn't describe you. There have been plenty of people—lacking understanding of tires and suspension geometry—complaining loudly about tire life as if Rivian made an egregious mistake.

Since the last update, the ride height resets to "auto" for me, it does not stay in the ride height I select. I am constantly setting it to "standard", only to have it go back to "auto". Hoping they fix this with the new update.

Covered many times. This is intentionally done to meet EPA requirements. It resets 4 hours after each drive, as indicated in the owners manual. There is no fix for intended behavior.
