Needing to replace my 275/55/21 tires after 25K miles Looks like ONLY options are Pirellis (the same that is on there Now) which I am not impressed with
OR the Micheline Defender LTX MS/2 which appear to be out of stock nationwide for approx 60 days +

ANY suggestions for other tires or manufactures for these rims ?

I suggest going with 20s or 22s. You will have more options to choose from, especially w/the 20s.

I know the cost of doing so, since you will need to buy the rims. I was in the same situation. I went with the 22s.

Hey, the Scorpion Verde is better than the new 22" range wheels on gen2. Gen 1 21" are about $475 per tire but the Gen 2 22" range tires are about $560 per tire. Of course with 22" you do have more options for tires. You also have more for 20" as well.

@EV Sportline has a great deal on right now where you get 650 off running boards if you get rims or tires great deal. I got the r1600's and put rubber on to match the diameter of the 21s. (275 60 r20).

I had the same issue but was able to get the 21" Defenders ordered and installed at Discount Tire in August. I continuosly watched Tire Rack and DT websites (for about three months) and ordered quickly when they showed in stock. It was worth the price and wait - great tires at a good price.

I know there is an extensive list of tires and I’m looking for wheels now. Has anyone researched and documented what wheels are available? I don’t want to overlook any good options and I’m done with the 21” tire debacle.
thanks in advance

They are available on tirerack.

I get all my tires from them and have them installed by their reputable installers. The Defenders are very smooth and comfortable overall. I got these installed in size 21s on my R1s this past summer.

And theres an $80 rebate with the purchase of four tires... Which I'm doing right now :)
