Impressive numbers.
Remind me, did you attempt to ask Rivian to change your tire size in the software? Lots of conflicting info out there and the main thing holding me back on downsizing to these.

I have had Rivian adjust to the tire size. I really think it is service center dependent. Here in Michigan, they had no problem adjusting from the 20" pirellis to 20" goodyears.

I have gotten credits but it is only for the same brand, so unless you find a loophole you will be stuck with General…if was in your shoes I’d just the HTS60 again since your cost will be less than half…
Here at Dallas discount tires to do rotation on my r1t. 5k miles and went down to 8/32 on stock pirelli. I also ask the manager about thread warranty credit on my r1s general grabbers. He said, it can be apply to any brands I want

That’s great, I’m getting around 2,200 miles per 32nd on the front tires and 3,500 miles per 32nd on the rears. For tread life, prob best to get a tire that has at least 13/32 tread…I’m now expecting almost 30k miles from the Yokohamas.

With Rivian announcing that tire size changes are coming to the infotainment, I'm wondering if I try and drag out the stock tires longer until I can buy these...

Did they give a timeline or just "soon"?
They said Google Cast would come in summer but it's now expected in December (I guess it's summer in Australia and New Zealand)

They said Q1 2025 but who knows how real that will actually be. They already have the ability to change the tire size, just a matter of making it user facing. I know that's a drastic oversimplification but it's better than starting from scratch.

Rivian Service wanted to charge me $60 and book an appointment to re-flash my vehicle for the new tire size. With this announcement, I'd be hard pressed to pay for something the user can do themselves.

Averaging 2900 miles /32nd? Doesn't sound great. I've got 4900 mi/32nd on the Pirelli AS+3, but also expecting about 32k miles since it started with 11/32. Weird part is the wear ranged from 8.5-10.5 over 6200 miles, front-right was the worst and rear-right was the best ??‍♂

I’d say the Yokos are great considering driving style, lately I put in sport and pretend it’s a Lamborghini! The tires really perform well, so if I can get 30,000 miles I see that as pretty amazing, they appear to be wearing at same or close to the same rate as Pirelli yet cost half as much and are extremely quiet. I’m guessing the Goodyears will be very similar with a very slightly more aggressive/off-road oriented character.

Rivian R1T R1S New Goodyear 20” tire option - available when? 1000001202

Pirelli AS+3 is 9% more expensive, not 100%! But yes, they're 3PMSF rated and get better efficiency than my AT3Ws so they're good year round.

Yuck, I wouldn't compare anything to those. They are worst of all worlds; rim size, price, wear, 3PMSF... only thing the got going for them is efficiency, which is matched by tires that exceed them in every other category.

So am I able to get the 22s in these new tires to fit my R1S? Seems like I can..I need new tires asap and Costco won’t put on the 115 tires I had ordered. What a nightmare.
