So, have there been any updates regarding the availability of an OTA performance upgrade? End of the year is fast approaching.

Is this hard for them to do? It seems like free money for Rivian so I’m surprised they haven’t rolled this out yet. Incremental cost to the company is near zero.

I've also been watching closely waiting for this... I have heard nothing.

I sure hope it's not a year late, like chromecast is set to be.

They DO have the upgrades section in the infotainment (where you can subscribe to connect+), so obviously they're intending on filling that out with other things. Hopefully sooner than later.

I would hope it would be as it was with Tesla where you can just add acceleration boost for $2k on 3 & Y long ranges. I did to both of mine. Basically Tesla could do it right from the app.

Basically you had 24 hours to decide if you kept it or not. I knew I wanted it on both of my cars so it was a no brainer. Absolutely worth the upgrade for me on both of my cars. On the Rivian it seems to be a much bigger boost but also a lot more expensive.

I hope Rivian will follow a similar approach but it sounds like it might need SC intervention.

They have explicitly said that they are planning an OTA upgrade you can purchase, very much like Tesla. But no details or timing :/

I get the feeling RJ Time is like Elon Time when it comes to features being rolled out.

Yeah, no. One of them intends to actually roll the feature out.
Rivian does have an impressive history of sticking to its deadlines but they aren’t perfect.

I thought for sure they’d start to offer the OTA updates on Oct 1 to maximize their odds of hitting a Q4 profit. I was wrong but I’m still hopeful they will want some of us to gift ourselves an upgrade for the holidays.

To be fair, I don't think they ever officially announced WHEN they were going to do this.

The first I ever heard about it was someone who posted on the forum that a guide had told them over the phone that it was confirmed to be coming and it would be "by the end of the year". And this was some time early 2024.

I found several other posts of people reporting that guides had told them similar things over the phone, that for sure was coming, but they all said there was no specific timeline attached. I was told the same by multiple guides over the phone. So I'm thinking that one person who said "by the end of the year" probably mis spoke
