It's an advanced level 2 driver assistance system. It's all plug and play, nothing about it alters the vehicle. Simply unplug it and its gone. So no it should have zero effect on warranty.
cool, thanks for the info.

so the Comma OS, which im assuming is vision (camera) based, takes over the Rivian steering/throttle? does it use any of Rivian's camera, radar, ultrasonic sensors to inform its decision making or just the Comma OS camera?

My understanding is that it just uses the Comma's camera. It relies upon adaptive cruise control for speed. Absolutely no input from the Rivian's cameras.

in the past with my prius prime it would use the radar for following distance validation, not sure the induvial working the exploit has gotten that part to play nice yet.

comma.ai is vision only. They switched because despite what people believe, vision only is better than the cheap radar you have in your car

I received the comma harness yesterday and had the opportunity to install and test everything last night. While installing the harness presented a bit of a challenge due to the component bracing near the AXM, I managed to get the new connector into place. I’m glad that part is behind me. The rest of the install was easy, mostly just tucking cables away and behind the trime panels.

I used Comma in the Rivian for the first time during my commute today, and I’m pleased to report that it functioned flawlessly with no disconnects during my 60-mile highway drive. I truly appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in making this possible!

I apologize if the videos aren't the best quality; I left early when it was still dark.

First hands free drive....

Awesome! I got mine yesterday and had to install it immediately as well. I am also happy to report that it is working flawlessly so far. I second your relief at finally getting the black connector into the AXM, that was by far the most difficult part, but am relieved now that it's done :)

I made a quick video on some side roads last night if anyone's interested.

How well does Comma handle emergency situations? I understand the driver is always responsible, but what does it do if someone pulls out in front of the vehicle unexpectedly? Does it react?

I can't say that I've experienced an actual emergency situation with comma before. It has handled vehicles cutting in very well for a few years now.

Any tips on installing the harness? I’m getting mine next week. Any special tools required?

It'll brake and make a path around them. Its not going to stop you from hitting a deer or something though. Comma AI supports collaborative steering, which is really nice - you steer a bit and it doesn't disengage, it just takes over from where you left off.

I will be putting together a video tutorial and forum post soon. Mainly i would suggest you loosen the bolt holding the black plastic thats in the way, and pull that out and over as much as you can to get a little more room. Then bend the cable at an L shape and try to fish it into position. It should slide right in. This is the most difficult part. Once it starts to go back in, use a small tool like a flat head screwdriver to push it all the way in.

Thanks so much and thank you for letting us all know about the project. I'm meeting up with Lukas next week. I'm so excited to get it up and running!

I made a quick installation guide in case it might help anyone trying to install their Comma device.

Tools that I used:

- Ryobi floodlight
- Automotive trim tool
- Torx T20 screwdriver bit
- Small and medium flat head screw drivers
- 1/2 extended reach ratchet
- 10 ft. USB-C extension cable

Thanks for putting this together. I'll still waiting on my cable but will install as soon as I get it, assuming work doesn't get in the way.
