With my 2023 R1S. I have done soft and hard reset, and removed/added my phone. The phone key will lock/unlock the vehicle, open and closes the trunks, etc. The. Vehicle will sync the phone for audio and calls. Both my, and the wife‘s phone key will not work to drive the vehicle. We have to use the key card to drive. Any ideas to resolve before having to contact service?

Was it working before and just stopped?

When you said you removed and re-added the phone are you talking about under keys or from Bluetooth? If you have not removed it from keys under security, you may want to delete it from there and re-add it. When I replaced my phone that was a pretty simple process, just followed the instructions to add it.

Yes the phone keys worked before update 2024.31.01. I removed my phone from security/access as well as from Bluetooth. Then did soft and hard reset. Then added the phone via security/access and Bluetooth. Still requires the key card to drive.

Had a similar issue twice in a week, but after using the card to start, it recognized my phone again. Contact support.

Have you tried logging out of the Rivian app on your device, then logging back in?

If that doesn't work try deleting the app completely to remove all it's data. Reinstall, login, and setup PAAK over again.

What make and model device are you using out of curiosity?

Are you the second owner? I just had this problem with my R1T. There was some residual/corrupt data that had the truck occasionally looking for first owners key ID (I’m probably not using the proper language here). Anyway, had to go into service center so they could remove that and get everything pointing in the right direction. Seems fixed now.

FWIW, PaaK has been a lot more unreliable since installing .31, but it'll still let me drive. I just usually have to wake the truck via the app, which concerns me if I'm in a place where my phone or truck has no signal.

Yes. Turns out Rivian replaced the PaaK module. Towards the end even the key card was having issues getting the vehicle into drive. Also my speed sensor went out disabling the vehicle or limiting it to 19 mph as well. Leaving me and my family stranded out at the ocean. I had to get my own rental to get my family home but Rivian paid for everything and the vehicle tow to Seattle service center who immediately started working on Everything. So far no other issues.
Since I had my R1S I also had the HV and 12v battery fail which Rivian covered. I hope they’re no more issues with it going forward.

I recently traded my iPhone 15 Pro Max for a 16 Pro Max. Transfer of everything went as it should except for my Rivian phone key.
I didn’t delete the old phone key off the truck and in the app before I erased everything on the iPhone 15. Now the truck won’t accept the new phone as a key. Talked to service and they tried to help me fix it on the phone, no luck.
I’ve got a service appointment on Monday to hopefully get it resolved and get my new phone connected as a key. My wife’s phone will not connect either. Sounds like I need the PAAK module replaced?? I’m confident they’ll get it cleared up on Monday.
I’ve had great service with the team at Rivian. I live 45 minutes from Normal and they come right out to my house. They were actually wanting to come tomorrow but I’m helping my daughter move.

Did you ever resolve this issue?
Just got my 2025 R1S back from service and now both my phone and wife’s will not work with the vehicle. Rivian service doesn’t have an opening until the end of April. I tried just about everything i could think of with no luck.

Did you try turning your off Bluetooth on your phone and turn it back on? Sometimes the vehicle doesn’t recognize my phone to drive a quick toggle of Bluetooth on and off and the vehicle recognizes my phone.

My PAAK has become a bit flaky in recent weeks. I'm waiting until the temps get warmer than the 20' s for a high to spend time on it. Sometimes it won't unlock, sometimes it won't start, sometimes both, and other times it's fine. Right now toggling the BT seems to work. Normally the R1T would be in the barn now and I would be on the beach on the Gulf of Mexico for a month, but the place we rent was washed away last fall. I think maybe it's just the cold and my truck wishes it was in the barn.

Yup did all that. I deleted the app and reinstalled it, going to give that a try but nothing else seems to work and help desk can't figure it out either.
