Are there really only two tire options for the 21 inch rims?

Pirelli OEM and Michelin defenders?

I'm thinking about going to the 22 inch Range rims & tires and just wondering if there is any real value to these 21's.

Any all-terrain options for the 21's?

Yes, and not long ago the OEM tires were the only option. No AT 21s that I know of.

You could probably look at the for sale section here for an estimate.

I went with the Michelin's. We have used Michelin tires for years with good luck, ( knock on some wood now ).
They have a nice tread pattern, mileage warranty and they are less expensive.

I say, why is more choice needed, the Michelins are cheaper, better, and have "sexy" tread. I am happily "stuck" with them.

some people up north may want a dedicated winter/snow tires in size of 21" . I doubt that it will ever happen since rivian decided to get rid of the 21" in their gen 2.

The defender tread is good, as well where studs are allowed, studs rock! Down side is they are seasonal, but if one wants a seasonal tire, bingo!

If no winter tire available for 21" wheels, I suppose my R1S is bound to forever live in storage at least Nov. through April. Everybody seems to suggest all season Michelins are the better option. Will try those when replacement time comes.
Not interested in frittering away a few $ thousands for bigger/smaller wheels and tires just because. Not interested in driving my R1S in the nasty, filthy, punishing winter, anyway.

The OEM tires took my R1T over 50 miles in a blizzard from 3,000 ft. to 6,000 ft. elevation and back on a road that was not plowed. 25 Semitrucks were on their sides wreaked off the road @ 3,000' I drove past them to the 6K ft. in the blizard, and back down, zero slippage. I was at 5 MPH or even less, but still bragging about it. This was Mojave up to top of Bear Mtn. & down to Bear Valley Springs.

Also the tires were down to 4 mm and less. I do not like the OEM's but they are so soft, they do snow.

Less impressive, but I drove my R1S with OEM 21s on twisty roads over the Middlebury Snowbowl mountain in unplowed blizzard conditions last month. I put the car in snow mode and made it up and over without sliding. More like 20-30 mph.

I’ve liked Michelins on other cars and hear good things about the 21s so will switch to them for my next set. Though I would love to have a nice set of Nokians like I had on my Model X.

Then you felt just how well those hiway tread Scorpin Verde's tracked and held to the road. Impressive, but low treadwear and expensive. My guess is, unless you experience them it seems impossible for such a tread to do what they do. , but still, I will never buy another one.
