I'll raise you a potentially even smarter decision would be to get a pre-owned 2022 Gen 1 R1T Quad Adventure or Launch for $55k less w/less than 30k miles. 2 years/30k left of warranty and literally half the price with 12Vs in the frunk and cabin and with a better (Meridian) sound system! I've seen half a dozen or so in that range.Or the smarter decision would just get a pre-owned gen 1 quad R1T for 40k less with less than 10k miles. Talk about a slicker deal

Trust your gut and go for it! G1 R1T QM is a beast and an incredible value in the $50-55K range.I'll raise you a potentially even smarter decision would be to get a pre-owned 2022 Gen 1 R1T Quad Adventure or Launch for $55k less w/less than 30k miles. 2 years/30k left of warranty and literally half the price with 12Vs in the frunk and cabin and with a better (Meridian) sound system! Makes sense with the Gen 1 suspension on the R1T is much better than the R1S. The only thing you'd be missing is the ADAS and better cameras really. Very few will upgrade from Gen 1 to Gen 2 imo so they'll have a hard time selling these 100k+ vehicles to new people. I'll hold out for Gen 3/4 and see what they offer at that time for my Gen 1.I'll raise you a potentially even smarter decision would be to get a pre-owned 2022 Gen 1 R1T Quad Adventure or Launch for $55k less w/less than 30k miles. 2 years/30k left of warranty and literally half the price with 12Vs in the frunk and cabin and with a better (Meridian) sound system! That's Storm Blue according to the Costco build tool. It's just horribly inaccurate like all the other colors on the build page. That R1S Blue is the similar to my former Lancia Integrale, ‘Lord Blue’.
It’s no way near the ‘Rivian’ Blue they currently offer.
But the calipers in the photos for the new Quad are a greeney/blue, not the yellow in this screen shot, which we know now signify the Tri Motor currently on sale.
But I’d love that Blue as an option in the future, particularly if metallic.
Unless you want a quieter suspension...then you want a late 2023/2024 with the revised components.Trust your gut and go for it! G1 R1T QM is a beast and an incredible value in the $50-55K range.
This was one of the reasons I traded my 2022 R1T for the 2025 Tri-motor. The noisy suspension spoiled the fun.Unless you want a quieter suspension...then you want a late 2023/2024 with the revised components.
Around 18,000 miles on the All terrains and you can hardly hear it! Lol. I'm afraid to drive a new one as then I'll be tempted to trade....just holding out for R2.This was one of the reasons I traded my 2022 R1T for the 2025 Tri-motor. The noisy suspension spoiled the fun.
I promptly switched to the 22" dark setup. Couldn't tolerate the onroad noise after a few hundred miles!Around 18,000 miles on the All terrains and you can hardly hear it! Lol.
Smart move! Except for the Ascend interior, everything else are not worth the trade. I'm having PAAK issues, rattles, no better v1.2 power tonneau, gimmicky dynamic roof (I'd prefer a roof with a real shade), but the killer is the level 2 charging throttle above 80% not initially disclosed by Rivian - It's so frustrating to the point I'm regretting my trade every time I take a trip away from home because of this issue. There's no way I would consider the new Quad.I'm afraid to drive a new one as then I'll be tempted to trade....just holding out for R2.
Thanks for mentioning this! From what I could see, it does look like an early specs before Ascend announced.I dont know if anyone else has mentioned this - but I think this listing on Costco has been up for almost a year now. I remember it being there in September/October time frame I'm sure at least - around when motor trend did the super early review of the quad R1S. These 'premium' trims must have come from a early spec sheet prior to ascend being publicly announced...
Their new motors are quite a bit smoother than the original. Also Gen 2 is future proof for ADAS. But yes, Gen 1 is good as far as it goes.Or the smarter decision would just get a pre-owned gen 1 quad R1T for 40k less with less than 10k miles. Talk about a slicker deal

I just got a Launch edition, 21,000 miles, looks literally brand new (two people that saw it after I got it thought it was), 57k total out the door. The dealer I got it from said in the not too distant past, he was selling the exact truck for like 120k lol.I'll raise you a potentially even smarter decision would be to get a pre-owned 2022 Gen 1 R1T Quad Adventure or Launch for $55k less w/less than 30k miles. 2 years/30k left of warranty and literally half the price with 12Vs in the frunk and cabin and with a better (Meridian) sound system!
