Problems after delivery

I have experienced some problems after taking delivery of my R1S a couple of days ago. First it took several tries over two days to get Apple Music set up. I kept getting a message that the setup had authenticated and then the screen either went back to the setup or had no content on any tabs In the Apple Music screen. Eventually everything resolved it self and Apple Music is good. Next I had a problem with Google cast. I scanned the QR code and it created a link but nothing happened when I clicked the link. Tried several times but never succeeded. The last problem was more frustrating. I was doing a second charging session and after I finished the charge I disconnected and pushed to switch to close the charge port and it rotated and then slid out from the fender and just sat there extended about four inches. I can push it in almost flush with the fender but if I push the switch it extends out a little but doesn’t rotate. Don’t get me wrong I love the R1S but these quality problems are frustrating.

A good and easy thing you can try to fix issues like you describe is the software reset and/ or the hardware reset (see below). If you find it doesn’t fix it, or you are having to do a bunch of resets, then definitely schedule a service appt.

That being said, the Apple Music app is not good. It will work for some time, then the next update seems to break it again. I have basically given up on it because I’m tired of the app restarting constantly. I suspect the main issue is ATT’s network, but either way it is barely usable.

Thanks. This helped fix the Apple Music issue and the delivery team did tell me about the first reset after I contacted them. They did not tell me about the other reset though so thanks for that. Again not complaining as the service has been very good so far and the personnel have been very helpful.

Just to confirm when you're trying to cast you're connected to the vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot?

Create a ticket for the charge port door and call Rivian Support to have them guide you through some troubleshooting and maybe setup a sooner appointment or mobile option to get you squared away.

Yes I was connected to the vehicle WiFi. Music is streaming fine now but the Google cast didn’t work.
