Just noticed the top setting on the lights stalk has “All Fog.” What illuminates that isnt with + Fog below? Wonder if thats meant for (future) Euro sales where rear fogs are legal. Those bright reverse lamps would be very illuminating to drivers behind - as in blinding!

Do the lights alter in All Fog? Noticed setting shows a yellow icon for it on driver’s display

The "all fog" setting turns on brighter tail lights. For the love of God, please don't use this except in genuinely foggy conditions when you want people to see you better from behind. The knuckleheads that run this all the time are doing nothing but masking their brake lights.

Turns on the rear fog lights, which are incredibly bright (bright enough to be a bit of a hazard if you don't really need them).

They work great! I was following my wife in some fog a few weeks bad. The fog was bad enough you couldn't see a vehicle in front of you, even with normal lights on. She flipped the all-fog on, and suddenly she was the most visible thing on the road.

The Rivian has rear fog lights, they're next to but separate from the reverse lights. Rear fogs are red, reverse lights are white. They are indeed very bright though, and should never be used except in heavy fog or snow conditions where visibility is seriously reduced (e.g. less than 100 feet) or they'll dazzle other drivers.

The little icon for each light is a pictograph of the light itself when facing the left (US driver) side of the vehicle. If the little lines are going to the left of the head lamp shape, that means they're on the front of the vehicle. If they're pointing down-ish, that means they're low beam. If they're pointing straight, that means they're high beam. If they're coming off the right of the headlamp shape, that means they're on the rear of the vehicle. That's why the icon for the parking lights has lines going both directions, because both front and rear parking lights are illuminated. The icon for rear fogs show the lines coming off to the right of the lamp shape, because they're on the rear of the vehicle. etc.

Already said, but rear fogs. The idea is to have separate rear lights (on the lower rear bumper) that are nearly as bright as the brake lights for visibility in really foggy conditions while still having all 3 brake lights with full function. I live on some of the highest land around before actually getting into the mountains around here and it's quite common in the winter to get very foggy and I'm thrilled Rivian actually has them since most cars sold in the US don't. In fact, MINI even installs the rear fogs complete with bulbs and then disables them in software for some reason.

My Audis have rear fog lights. Simple button push can turn them on independent of front fogs.

Other than foggy conditions, I also use when being tailgated. ?

I may..or may not...have done this exact same thing about a week ago. :bandit:

I REALLY don't know what was going through that guy's mind, but EVERY time he got behind me he put his brights on. Just me, too. Guess he didn't like my license plate or something...

That said, the SECOND I put them on, they got the picture and turned off their brights. I think it was a Lexus, so there IS a chance that whatever sensor was dictating their auto-high beams was malfunctioning and my bright-ass rear fogs told it "there's someone here, turn off the brights..." ...?

Intentionally turning those on just to blind another driver in retaliation is just rude. Not socially acceptable.

I can't wait to try it. ?

We have used Opal's rear fog lights on a number of occasions. I think they work well to help other drivers see us when it is pouring down rain and the truck is further obscured by the mist that it throws up on a wet street. Torrential downpours are fairly common in this part of the country. We feel that Opal's rear fogs are a definite plus.

The standard MINI switch panel lacks a switch for the rear fog lights. There is a kit to change ithe panel out for one that does. It requires a programming change to enable it. I had this on my 2002 MINI.

I'm aware and ordered that switch panel and coded mine when I had the SE (electric) MINI.
