Threads like this are why I love this forum and this community! Educational PSAs and shared experiences along with the entertaining posts are always a good read!

I mean, it sucks that it happened, but I love when people can keep a sense of humor about the unexpected stuff haha.
Is it the threads, or the nuts?

I doubt that 1Up rack moved at all if it was stored in the upright position...mine when it's there and the lock screw is tightened it won't budge as it's a solid rack. Likely the attachments came loose and thus came the light bar.

On tip I can suggest on that rack. We use our 1Up rack for 2 e-Mtn Bikes that weigh about 55lbs each. When I first got it, I had to put an extender into the receiver in order to get enough clearance to load the bikes. I found the bikes rode really high behind the truck and were a long lift. As an alternative, I purchased this 4" Curt Drop Hitch Adapter to lower the bikes down behind the truck for better visibility, and get them down out of the airstream (has to improve efficiency). Additionally, when when the rack is in the bike loading position, I can lower the tail gate and not hit the rack (allows access to the bed without removing the rack). I also ordered this anti-rattle hitch lock to secure the entire set-up to the truck.

Happy biking!

This is a quikrstuff rack, designed by the guy who made the original 1up rack but went onto his own after the 1up patent expired. Definitely comparable but actually feels a bit more solid than the 1up racks. Also quicker to add/remove sections and re-size it for other sized tires. Can also do the resizing toolless, which is something you can't do on the 1up racks.

They also sell a ramp for heavier bikes. I bought one, but have yet to use it. I typically buy the 1up racks to go on cargo rails now instead of the hitch racks.

Both are absolutely great options though.
