My wife is really interested in this vehicle, but:
- Price seems quite high, and IDK how I'd justify it.
- The range is terrible, even worse than I feared. With the target audience being adventurers, I don't know how feasible 230-250mi really is. If you're 90 miles from the nearest charger, that doesn't leave you with much to spare.

It will be heavily discounted once units sit on dealer lots for more than 30 days. But for $65k you can get used MY22-24 R1s with large pack, quad or dual, and with much better software support. Up the budget a bit more and used dual-max would be within grasp.

Range could/should have been better, but, kWh for kWh, range is par with Rivians. Actually, better range than Rivians.

Kudos to Stellantis. A "Trail Rated" badge, whatever that means, is a hell of a lot better than Rivian's grotesque, childish, infantile stupidity pet mascot badge

For $45K I would at least go look at it in person, but... if Samsung makes it's battery pack, it would be a deal breaker for me.

Right now there is an open recall with no resolution and nation wide "stop sale" on all the Jeep 4xe products because of a battery cell separator issues in it's Samsung battery.

Sounds familiar?? Well, it's the same problem the Chevy Bolt's LG made battery had that eventually caused GM to swap out all the Chevy Bolt batteries over the last couple of years due to fire risks.

Many are opining that since this is now the 3rd recall on the Samsung 4xe batts that Jeep may just have to replace all the 4xe batts like Chevy had to do after trying multiple software "fixes" over time in the Bolt. Jeep has now tried 2 software "fixes" for the Samsung 4xe batts, neither has been effective and the govt. has issued a "stop sale" on all 4xe models.

If the Recon has a Samsung battery, you'd be wise to avoid it completely TFN.
