Has anyone ran into a metallic rattle from the front drivers side? This happens intermittently between 45 and 55 MPH, usually while slowing. I've pressed on speaker grills, checked for any loose screws, or anything in any of the pockets.

It's driving me nuts!

Find a road near your SC where it rattles. Submit service request. The day of appointment you can let them know and/or request tech to ride along.

Good idea to find a road near the SC it happens. Last thing I would want is to take it in and then say can't replicate.

You can use a piece of fuel line or other tubing as a stethoscope to help you figure out where the noise is coming from.

I had a similar sound. I brought it to the service center for the sound and a leaking front left CV boot. They replaced the half shaft and also installed ting washers on all four corners. The noise went away.

Thanks! It's definitely a hard one to pin point since it could easily be coming multiple points up through the steering column or pedals. I got an appointment Wednesday to have the SC take a look and see if they can pinpoint the cause.

I was able to get my R1T into the Atlanta SC on 12/31 to do a tire rotation, multi-point inspection, the recommend brake flush, and to look at this rattle. The tech rode with me and it wasn't one he could pin point as a common one. He suspected it was something to do with something like a heat shield in the HVAC system. Got it back today and turned out to be a metal throttle pedal cover assembly that was was causing the rattle.

Could even be a loose metal clip commonly used in cars to attach trims to metal structures. I’ve grown accustomed to ignoring such minor noises. It’s a truck and if I can’t hear it over sound system at moderate volume it’s not worth my time/money to chase. The common dash rumble was one that couldn’t be masked/ignored. That finally got addressed by second ever service appoint in December. It helped the service staff had same in her own T and could relate.

Yeah, I have some rattles in the back I can hear with no audio. This one was a really annoying intermittent metallic rattle that could be hear on the drivers side through music. I took off the door panel and opened up areas of the dash and couldn't locate it. I finally bit the bullet and paid the $200 for a SC tech to track it down and correct.
