Gen 1 R1T On-Screen Compass Not Updating in Garage

I noticed that since the last update (2025.18.01) the center screen compass heading is not updating when I pull into my garage. I have to switch to park in order to get it to update correctly. My normal heading is 0 degrees when heading straight into the garage. For example, recently when I pulled in, the display showed 263 deg.. When I shifted into park it updated to 359 deg.

Does anyone else have this issue? I will try to add photos later.

First image above is truck in garage after turning from approximately due West to due North with truck in "Drive". Second image is after placing truck into "Park". Screen immediately updates and shows the correct compass heading of north (359 deg.).

While still in the garage, if I shift back to drive to align the vehicle directly north (0 deg.), the compass heading is frozen until I shift back to "Park* at which point the compass updates again.

While driving, the compass updates correctly. As far as I can tell, this behavior only occurs when the vehicle shifts from LTE to my home WiFi.

When exiting the garage, the compass heading remains frozen until the truck is outside the range of my WiFi network. When it switches to LTE, the compass heading is updated. Pretty sure this is the case because there is a gap in the music playback (I am usually on TuneIn Radio and not the radio or my phone as a music source).

I've opened a ticket with Rivian. It's a minor issue but still a bug somewhere.

After several more S/W updates I'm still encountering this issue. Wondering if anyone else experiences this behavior.

Mobile service came out and took a look and said it was a known issue but didn't have any information on when a fix might be forthcoming.

Not a navigation issue. Do you see a map on that screen? You don't expect your compass to update when switching between wi-fi and LTE? I'm admittedly a bit anal-retentive about lining up my truck in the garage.

Digital compasses are especially susceptible to electromagnetic interference. I basically never look at either compass in my car, so can't say I've ever observed your issues.

Does it eventually correct without shifting into park?

Did you have any electrical work done before the time the issue started?

Have you checked to see if any of the equipment involved in your garage door opening might have a grounding issue?

Nope. I've waited up to 5 minutes before shifting into park.

No electrical work has been done on the house since I purchased the truck in 2022.

Haven't checked, but doubt that's the issue. Anomaly only started after the 2025.18.01 update.
