Headline should read “Idiot driver allows car to drive into lake.”Yup, camera-only systems are the way to go…

The shadow banning stuff is bad, I agree. However Elon is bad. Dude constantly lies about stuff. Tesla is not bad per se, but Elon controls them and he likes to meddle in what they do. Thus Tesla's reputation suffers. China's government is bad which makes me question the people who embrace Chinese vehicles coming to the west. Guaranteed the Chinese government has more in mind than just simply selling cars in a free market.Let's not send traffic to Electrek please. They shadow ban anyone who disagrees with their narrative, and for the last 3 years that narrative is: Elon bad. Tesla bad. China good.
I am certain you understand that OP made an irrelevant claim and I was pointing that out (or asking for his education to the contrary).I am certain you understand the point of having both is redundancy.
I claimed that vision-only systems are the way to go. Do you not agree?I am certain you understand that OP made an irrelevant claim and I was pointing that out (or asking for his education to the contrary).
Except in the process you actually proved your passive aggressive characterization of my opinions to be valid.I am certain you understand that OP made an irrelevant claim and I was pointing that out (or asking for his education to the contrary).
I know, Musk bad, autonomy bad, blah blah.
Wait...who changed the topic? OP shared a story about camera-only FSD and you tried to talk about LiDAR and radar. Then tried to change it to Musk, who was not mentioned at all prior to that. You're hilarious. Can't stay on the actual topic, just distract, obfuscate and change the topic. It's normal Musk derangement behavior and leads nowhere. My original question stands, and it seems you agree I'm right.
Elon is bad though.Let's not send traffic to Electrek please. They shadow ban anyone who disagrees with their narrative, and for the last 3 years that narrative is: Elon bad. Tesla bad. China good.
No surprise the article shares no information on if the driver applied the brakes or FSD, maybe the user addresses this in the comments? It's also not clear if this is a perception issue or the widely reported navigation issues currently plaguing cutting edge versions of FSD, which this user has selected.
Thousands of miles are logged daily on FSD and this 7mph approach to a pond is worthy of an article? FSD must be doing better than I think.
LOL. Up until now I gave you credit for understanding the camera-only means without LIDAR and RADAR. Wow. Now I have a whole new understanding of why you can't logically assess autonomy.Wait...who changed the topic? OP shared a story about camera-only FSD and you tried to talk about LiDAR and radar.
The point, captain, is that vision-only has no relevancy, that I can find, in a situation where the other sensors are very unlikely to help.Yup, camera-only systems are the way to go…
Wrong again. Sorry you are so confused.LOL. Up until now I gave you credit for understanding the camera-only means without LIDAR and RADAR. Wow. Now I have a whole new understanding of why you can't logically assess autonomy.

Ooooh, you're about to see what ruffled panties look like. There's no place for such logic and reasoning here.BUT DIDN'T!! So in other words doing exactly as it's intended to do. Just like how Tesla's try to run over and murder children or run off the road into peoples houses...BUT DIDN'T, System working exactly as intended!! You try to denounce an entire system over a fringe odd situation like this (Which the system succeeded in rectifying safe by stopping) yet you forgot that in the days, weeks and months leading up to this that "millions" of Tesla's drove millions and millions of miles all by themselves successfully and often through some really crazy unique situations that would blow you away. Hundreds of paid ride Robotaxis drove thousands and thousand of miles with no driver. And all this time, how many people did Tesla cars murder on FSD??
How about this. I challenge any of you FSD naysayers, just for sh!ts and giggles, go test drive a new Model Y and try the FSD feature. You'll be blown away. But if you're not, just think about the mic-drop moment and satisfaction you can have when you prove yourself right on how crappy and worthless it is.
I’m curious if you have any thoughts as to why so few Tesla model Y owners subscribe to or purchased FSD? If it’s so good, so mind blowing, wouldn’t the people who have access to it readily subscribe? I admit it’s been a few years since I’ve been in an FSD car (it absolutely sucked). I can grasp why it would be a great feature. I don’t really care at the moment about that until it becomes true full self driving but that’s just my opinion. I’m wondering why more people don’t subscribe if it’s so great its current iteration.BUT DIDN'T!! So in other words doing exactly as it's intended to do.
