Yes, Gen 1 (build was August or September 2023). No 12-volt warning, however.

Tualatin Service Center called this morning (even offering an appt this afternoon); scheduled one for Thursday, after I return from fishing. Advisor did suggest they'd likely replace the 12-volt and see how things are after that.
There are supposed to be more 12v warnings now. They need to figure that stuff out. No one likes to get stranded.

6-12V batteries in low state of charge, dead, loose terminals or bad grounds have been the answer to ICE gremlins for many many many decades. Why not the same level of 12V gremlins for EV's?
I'd love the same level of Gremlins that are in my 1996 Subaru, which is on only its third battery as it enters its fourth decade. And it still has never had brake work.

12V battery.
We have a Gen 1 R1S and it did the same thing over Christmas break.
If you put a jump pack on the leads by the hitch it will allow you to open it and unplug charger.

I had a 1992 Subaru Loyale, paid $1700 (CAD). Drove it across the continent a few times and through terrain it had no business getting into. It seemed unstoppable and reached a bit of mythic status after MANY year of problem-free operation for me.
Then it met a moose.
But not for that moose, i might still be driving it instead of this technological marvel :)

Dead 12V but try pressing the frunk button many many times. It’s apparently a method to “wake” a stubborn Rivian. You never know.
Works with any of the exterior buttons.

I use the gear tunnel door button quite often. Usually when standing in the rain and PaaK, Fob, and Card have all failed. Likely because it's raining and the Rivian access system is awful.

I received a (proactive) text from Rivian today to replace my 12V battery. I’m scheduled for a mobile visit this Friday.
LOL. My visit is Thursday.

*AFTER* the 12V warning appeared, I got the notice of the 2026.03 update availability, which adds… 12V health monitoring. But it won't update - because of the 12V warning.

For me, zero percent loss after three days is unusual. Either things aren't running as usual and/or the vehicle isn't communicating any use/loss to the app.
I've looked at a vehicle I haven't driven in several days, and sometimes it's last status is 3-4 days ago and won't wake remotely.

It doesn't always indicate a problem. Obviously if you are local to the vehicle, and can't get in, that's a different story.

Works with any of the exterior buttons.

There's a non-zero issue your vehicle has hardware issues if you are experiencing that. Unless you don't give the key card system time to wake up and are moving the card around.

Rivian has seen the issue, tested the issue, and tells me "everything is working normally". Either Rivian is lying to me and it's NOT supposed to work this way, or it's an asinine system. I'm not certain, but it's awful.

Just today at lunch I stood with my hands full at the door waiting for it to unlock. Gave up and set the food on the bed rail. Got the fob out and had to push the button 4 times to get a response from the truck. It managed to "go to sleep" in the 3 minutes it took to walk in, grab food, and walk out.

Compared to the passive access I had in my Q7, this is embarrassingly bad.

I have noticed if the vehicle gets an opportunity to go into sleep, that it takes longer for it to come out of it immediately after, especially if your key device is still relatively proximal to the vehicle. If I park further away intentionally (and I usually do because I don't like door dings) then it's much more responsive.

My only suggestion (besides making sure the Rivian app has all permissions, including background energy use) is to try out the climate hold for those short situations. I know, you shouldn't have to. But the car won't go to sleep and remains very responsive to the key.

Rivian is balancing a fine line between trying to reduce unnecessary energy consumption and having a responsive vehicle. There were a few early updates on my '22 where the responsiveness was amazing with my phone, but the vehicle was using way too much energy to just sit and wait for me to get back. It was pretty obvious from that point on that they were going to struggle with this. My gen2 has been much better, but does occasionally stumble. A reboot of the computer fixes it for a long time. It would be nice to have a low enough level of access to the systems to have a hint of why it does what it does, but I understand why any auto manufacturer wouldn't do that.

What phone do you have?

Since you're stuck plugged in, what happens if you cut the power to the EVSE at the breaker? Any response from the vehicle? What does the EVSE show in the app?

It's not just the phone. The fob and the card don't work for crap either.
I agree the fob is hit or miss for unlock. Just thinking about the scientific method and eliminating variables. Sometime when i am in buffalo we can meet up and you can pair your phone to my truck and we can see if works better. My 2022 R1T unlocks from about 8 feet away with my Samsung Fold 5.
